Re: Ot: a question about nls human ware e reader

2023-02-02 Thread Joshua Hendrickson
You use a number sign before numbers, and I hit dot 6 twice before I
capitolize letters as I have both numbers and letters in my passwords
that are upper case. Also, think a little outside the box, and if you
have multiple letters that are upper case, just put dot 6 before each
letter if putting dot 6 twice before your beginning letter that needs
to be upper case doesn't work. The brailiant displays work very well
with bard and bookshare. Also, contact humanware tech-support and
they could also help you.

I never have managed to be able to sign into
either Bard or Bookshare using the
Brailliant. It's nice to know we can use regular
Braille, but how does one make a letter capital,
and what is the period? Do we use lower cells
for numbers, or do we need to include a number sign?

You don't have to use computer braille if you don't want to for
entering in user names and password for things like bard. However,
just remember that the @ sign is dots 4 followed by dot 1. I used
regular braille to sign into bard on my BI40X display which is similar

Re: Ot: a question about nls human ware e reader

2023-02-01 Thread Jasmine Kotsay
Hi,
You would use the thumb keys to get back to the user name field, then use a
cursor routing key to get into the field. I believe the way I did my computer
Braille was like it is on the BrailleSense 6. I press the letter u with the
Spacebar, dots 1-3-6-Space, to get the uppercase, then I pushed the letter
that I need to have capitalized. For example, to get the @ sign, you would
press the u with the Spacebar, then push the dot for key to get to the @. I
hope I make sense. And I hope it helps!

Have you tried dot 1 plus spacebar or dot 4 plus spacebar? That is the only
thing I can think of to get back to the username.

2023-02-01 Thread regina alvarado
Yes, I knew we had to write it in computer braille so I was helping her since
she can’t read Mbraille extremely quickly. We used computer braille all the way
through. The only question I had was in the tutorial they say on YouTube to use
256 as the computer braille. And the only one I know is 46. We even used
computer braille on the user name, but it was still 256. I’m wondering if
that’s our problem. However, how do I get back to the user name? Thank you so
much Jen I really appreciate this. I also appreciate that nobody’s chewed me
out. I just don’t know where to go. I am a braille reader, so it would be much
easier if I had my own so I could find , find out what’s going on, but I don’t.
Hoping against hope soon it will be there. I keep calling them and they keep
telling me that NLS is being very close mouth about when Michigan is going to
get theirs.

Is she writing her password in computer Braille? That is probably what is going

Ot: a question about nls human ware e reader

2023-02-01 Thread regina alvarado
I know this is totally off topic, but I don't know who to ask. I am helping a
friend with the NLS humanware ereader. I know some here have been using it for
some time. We don't have them in MI yet so I can't call my library. Anyway,
sorry but need help.

We have been successful getting the machine on her wifi. Now we are trying to
access BARD through the online services. When she enters NLS Bard it says to
enter her credentials but when she enters on that it shows the username in
garbled nonsense, and says ok underneath and when entering on OK it goes back
to enter credentials. IPhone and iPad both have BARD working perfectly. We have
turned it off and back on many times, and it does the same thing. As it is the
username we're having problems with the password, when we can get to it, won't
work obviously. Any thoughts? Sorry for straying so far off topic, but we may
just have to hook to iPhone In the end.
