The only app that edits Microsoft Word documents is Pages but it is challenging to use with VoiceOver. There are lots of text editing apps that create and edit .txt files. Check out www.applevis.com Two I like very much are PlainText and Meteor Notes. PlainText is free, Meteor Notes costs $2.99. They both sync with DropBox. I'm not aware of any need for a virus program on the iPhone. No you do not need an antimalware program for the iPhone being Apple seriously restricts how apps are developed and integrated into the device. I personally like this approach but some don't.
