Did you have to do any port-forwarding on your local router to
accommodate Tonito when used remotely, or does it only work on a LAN?

Steve, I guess not since I don't really understand your question. I simply
installed the Tonido desktop program on my computer, set up my account
through it, and let it do its thing. I didn't have to do any monkeying
around with port forwarding or anything else on my local router.

RE: Playing Music From Personal Drive

2013-10-10 Thread Joe
Hi, the Tonido recommendation is great, but I'm hoping to use something that
does not rely on my computer being powered on to function. I have an
external drive connected to my router. The router in turn lets me connect to
select folders while away from home. Alternatively I could upload my audio
content to my web server. Either way, I don't think this is the type of
thing Tonido can do. The only other thing I can think of is to sync up my PC
with Box and use the CloudBeats app to play audio from there. I took
advantage of the 50 gig promotion Box had going a while back. I suppose I
could just go about it that way, but otherwise, I have not found other
solutions. If I find something else outside of the list, I'll share it with
the group.
