RE: Please explore a wonderful gift by APH, GoodMaps Explore
That is nothing new, many apps came out as paid apps and later dropped in price or went free altogether because somehow the developer found a different way to make money and I assume this will always be happening. It's no different from buying a product you like only to find it elsewhere for cheaper or to see it go on sale a week later. Amny, my understanding from them is that nearby explorer will be free to everyone from now on. So, eventually the paid version will not be updated, just the free one. Not exactly sure when that will take affect. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of Amy Johnson Sent: Tuesday, September 15, 2020 10:41 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: Please explore a wonderful gift by APH, GoodMaps Explore Does anyone know if they will keep updating Nearby Explorer? Hi Amy, Like you, I Purchased Nearby Explorer. I was rather surprised and disappointed to learn that there was an update they could not be downloaded from the App Store. I believe it is a PH is intention to only work on this app. That’s unfortunate, because a number of us did buy that product and we can’t even get the latest update for it. You can use a “getting warmer” method, or get directions using Google Maps or Apple Maps launched from within the app. For a first release, this looks quite impressive. So, it is in their data base, they just have to update the info spoken in the Look Around tab. Malcolm, I’d suggest writing them and asking when it may be in the UK. It says something about around the world, so it could be just the first release like some other apps have done is only available here in the US. I would hope this would change so apps are more widely available from the start… Richard "He that cannot forgive others breaks the bridge over which he must pass himself,” and we forget that only grace can break the cycle of ancient hatreds among peoples.
