I have just found a solution to something that had long puzzled me : if
you have turned on Find My Phone, then if your phone software gets messed
up or you get a new phone after losing your old one, you will not be able
to restore from the backup on your iTunes because a pop up will tell you
that you must first of all turn off Find My Phone on the old device - and
this you cannot do if you cannot get into your old phone! Well, the
solution is to go Online and sign in to your iCloud account and remove the
old device from your Find My Phone list of devices :
 http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2702
Whew! I've now turned Find My Phone on for all my devices! Harry

 Subject: [Bulk] Find My Phone

I have just found a solution to something that had long puzzled me : if you
have turned on Find My Phone, then if your phone software gets messed up or
you get a new phone after losing your old one, you will not be able to
restore from the backup on your iTunes because a pop up will tell you that
you must first of all turn off Find My Phone on the old device - and this you
cannot do if you cannot get into your old phone! Well, the solution is to go
Online and sign in to your iCloud account and remove the old device from your
Find My Phone list of devices : http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2702
Whew! I've now turned Find My Phone on for all my devices! Harry

2014-12-07 Thread BHAVESH PATEL
Hi,

What if the person who steels the phone deletes the content, including
all the settings? will the Find my phone will still be on?

If Find My Phone is on and you also have a decent passcode on your phone,
then you don't need to worry about any thief getting at what is on your

you do want to use Restore from Backup using iTunes - see

 Thanks.
