Even with my iPhone 8, I have just had the battery replaced. I do
like the increased battery life. I can tell the difference in the
length of time I have between charges compared to what I had before.

Given Apple has increased the battery and it's brand-new so it should. But once

RE: 13 vs 13 pro

2021-11-20 Thread Simon A Fogarty
Hi Marie,

 Honestly,
If you have the 11 pro,
I'd question the need as yet to upgrade,

The 13 is a good phone,
But if anything it's kind of a step backwards,
The 13 pro gives you slghtly better feature set and a much better screen
But then if there is really nothing wrong with your 11pro
Keep it for another 12 months and get the 14 when it becomes available next
year,

I've gone from an 11 pro max to a 13 pro max and other than the better screen
quality that I don't use,
Or the camera which is pretty much the same megapicsal rate,

The 13pm on ly has the better / newer processor,
Lidar
And a better battery,

Which really I would have been fine with keeping the 11 pro max,

And don’t' get me wrong he 13pm is a bloody good phone,
But hey it's up to you what you do,

But don't let your nephew talk you in to something that you don't really need
to go to.

Good luck.

No, 11 range didn’t come out with lidar,
That started with the 12 pro / pro max.

Shame though, I might have kept my 11 pro max if it did.

In my opinion that is a waste of money especially if you have an 11 Pro. You

got the phone when it was released, but I can assure you that apart from that
you will most likely not notice any differences during your day-to-day use of
the phone.
It's of course your choice and I assume when he said you can save $200 he means
simply that the 13 is cheaper than the 13 Pro, but depending on what sort of
plan you have an whether you are making payments on your phone or buying it
outright, it is a much better idea to keep it for another year and plan to get
a 14 or 14 Pro next year as it looks as if there will be much more significant
changes with that phone from the huge camera upgrade from 12 to 48 Megapixels
to other features we'll hear about once we get a bit closer to next summer/fall.
I have just the regular iPhone 11 and there is nothing the iPhone 13 has which
would want to make me upgrade.

The iPhone 13 Mini will be the last. I have the 13 Mini and like the better
battery compared to the iPhone 7. I like the smaller size.
With the money I saved, I went for a 512 GB version to store music, podcasts,
and audio books. In case of low battery, I bought a Slim 2 battery bank for
$11. It is slightly thicker than a cigarette lighter and can recharge an
iPhone once. It can easily fit into my pants pocket. The Slim 2 costs a lot
less than a bigger iPhone.

RE: 13 vs 13 pro

2021-11-20 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
No, not according to any rumors at this time. The assumption is that there will
be two iPhone 14 models and two iPhone 14 Pro models, the regular Pro and the
Pro Max as always, but the regular iPhone 14 is rumored to also get a big
brother, not sure if they call it iPhone 14 Max or 14 Plus as they used to do,
but I believe it is assumed that the regular 14 and 14 Pro will have a 6.1 inch
screen same as now and that the larger 14 and Pro Max will have a 6.7 inch
screen, same as the Pro Max now. At this point the era of the Mini models
appears to end with the expected released of the iPhone 13 Mini next spring.
I know you have an iPhone 11 and once again I wouldn't personally upgrade to a
13 Mini just for the slightly smaller size, but that is of course choice. One
of the main reasons why I would not do it for the size is because while one
could of course use a 13 Mini for at least 4 years or maybe 5, it is unlikely
that size comes back until Apple really figures out the foldable design and
they are able to release a foldable iPhone which physically may be relatively
small, but when unfolded have a large screen.

Well, my 13 pro has amazing battery life.
But that is not any reason to spend the extra money.
The LIDAR feature may be, which is why I included the article link so they can

RE: 13 vs 13 pro

2021-11-20 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
There is a big difference between the specs and what you will find during
average daily use.
Even when I switched from my iPhone 8 to the 11 I didn't even find that it made
much difference other than battery life. The iPhone 13 and 13 Pro phones may
have a larger battery and offer really good battery life, but I'm using my
phone quite a lot and find that even my iPhone 11 has really good battery life,
it very comfortable gets me through the day and that is all I want. Sure, if
they could figure out a way to make a phone last 2 full days with heavy use
including GPS that would be great, but I don't think even a 13 Pro Max will do
this. With the batteries nowadays I am simply not concerned about charging my
phone because I know I get a new phone before the battery health /capacity has
dropped to a level where it's an issue. I have charging pads in my office, next
to my bed, in the living room and it's simply not a big deal to give it a 15 or
20 minute top up should it really be low for some reason.

I will be getting a new phone and currently have the 11 pro. My nephew tells me
I can save about ‘’$200 if I get the 13. He has the 13 and says the camera is
quite good. Are there other features that a blind person would use to warrant
getting the 13 pro?

RE: 13 vs 13 pro

2021-11-20 Thread Richard Turner
Aside from the LIDAR scanner, which Judy Dixon wrote an excellent article about
that I will post the link to below, it will have much better battery life than
the regular 13.
Her article was done in May talking about the 12 Pro which was the first to
have LIDAR. The 13 Pro also has LIDAR and the newer processor, etc.

Re: 13 vs 13 pro

2021-11-20 Thread Nimer Jaber
Hello Marie,

I would consider the pro simply because it will come with the LiDar
scanner. If you aren't using apps with Lidar, or you don't see yourself
getting into that, then stick with the regular 13, and you will likely be
satisfied.

Thanks.
