Oh I see,

A second event in September.

Speech rate must be to high.

Mind you don’t they usually release or announce iPads and computers earlier in
the year like march or similar?

Richard did not say there was an event on the 2nd of September, he said " The
rumors I’ve heard about the second September event would be for new iPads or
other hardware not covered on the 14th"
This refers to a rumoured second event in September after the 14th since Apple
has confirmed an event called "California Streaming" on the 14th, but since
this would mean they would have to do another event either on the 21st or the
28th give or take a day I doubt this is true and as usual all new hardware will
be covered next Tuesday or, if it is not, Apple may later on just announce
something else without a dedicated event.

Oh, and of course there is the possibility it could be called the iPhone 12S.
It will be interesting how the event title "California Streaming" will relate
to the event, usually Apple's event titles are somewhat important when it comes
to what will be revealed.
And then there are even some rumours Apple will hold another September event
which then would have to be 2 weeks later on the 28th or so, but I highly doubt
this will turn out to be accurate.

The September even is always primarily about hardware, iOS 15 was introduced
during the WWDC even in June. Yes, of course Apple will mention iOS 15 in
connection with whatever they reveal about the new hardware because there maybe
iOS 15 features which only work on the latest hardware and they usually don't
let this out of the box until the hardware is also introduced.

As for Apple watch beta I was under the impression people have been testing
this for weeks if not months, of course just as with iPhone hardware, the new
Apple Watch 7 will be revealed next week although if rumours are correct there
are significant delays in production so possibly the new watch won't be
released until later or if it is people may have to wait for some time to get
theirs. At least my prediction back in July was correct that the Apple even
would most likely take place on the 13th or 14th, they really should have
introduced the iPhone 13 on Monday, September 13! Maybe the fact that they are
doing it on the 14th means Tim Cook is superstitious and they'll skip the
iPhone 13 designation and go straight to iPhone 14 or maybe iPhone 2022
following the vehicle convention of naming the new models which come out in the
fall for the next year. Of course I don't really believe this; just ruminating.

But they would I think announce on the 14th and then release at the following

Either way I’m looking forward to hearing what they have.

Ah, OK, so I’m an idiot! I don’t know when the WatchOS 8 public beta started,
but when I went to the WatchOS 8 beta site a few weeks ago, I saw the “Coming
this fall” banner and assumed that referred to the beta when in fact it seems
to refer to the public release itself. If you scroll down far enough, you’ll
see the link to sign up for the beta. I hope my idiocy didn’t steer anyone
wrong.

Well, when I went and signed up for the IOS 15 beta two or three weeks ago,
there still wasn’t a WatchOS beta. I’ll need to circle back around to see if
it’s available now, and I want to take the plunge. I liked what I read about
the changes in the Breathe app and how they’re now calling it the Mindfulness
app.

You can check out all the Watch OS 8 features at:

Last time I checked, which was a few weeks ago, they had the highlights posted
for the next version of WatchOS, but the beta wasn’t available yet. Therefore,
I’m guessing they may talk about what’s coming in WatchOS, but I don’t think
they’ll be pushing anything out next week, except maybe the beta will start.

I just checked the Apple Events page and the event is listed there for next
Tuesday, the 14th at the usual 10AM Pacific.
So, that is no longer a rumored date, but a confirmed date by Apple.

Yes, those are great services; but you have to ask the question first.
Since I thought I knew the answer, I never asked.
But I have used the question about dates since my first iPod Touch for things I

Thanks for bursting my bubble. Somewhere along the way, I had heard Hitchcock
was born on a Friday too, but unlike you, I never checked that.

At least, it was the same date if not the same weekday.

was born August 13, 1899 which was a Sunday.

The rumors I’ve heard about the second September event would be for new iPads
or other hardware not covered on the 14th.

But, since Apple doesn’t usually give more than 7 days notice of their events,
time will tell.

Christopher,
I am not running the Watch beta, but the beta web site would seem to indicate
it is available. But, I’m sure they will talk about the next Watch, Series 7.
You can check out all the Watch OS 8 features at:
watchOS 8 Preview -
Apple

At the end of that is a place to sign up for the beta.

I’m with you Sieghard. I was rooting for a September 13th release. I was born
on a Friday the 13th, so I don’t’ appreciate the superstitions about my birth
date or the number 13.

Alfred Hitchcock and I have the same birthday…of course his was 1899 and mine
was 1954…but a fun fact anyway.

Subject: Apple Event is set for September 14, at 10AM Pacific

I just checked the Apple Events page and the event is listed there for next
Tuesday, the 14th at the usual 10AM Pacific.

So, that is no longer a rumored date, but a confirmed date by Apple.
