RE: Dating sites

2017-09-13 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Terri,

You ask an excellent question.

To be honest, my answer depends upon whether or not you have any usable vision
as I'm afraid accessibility has fallen by the wayside, in terms of dating
resources, these days.

If you have some usable vision, this is to say, you can see enough to
distinguish button locations on an iOS device. Then the Plenty of fish and/or
Match.com apps are passable as possible solutions. However, if you are totally
blind, then I cannot recommend either Plenty of Fish or Match.com, at this
time.

I continue to push for better POF and Match.com accessibility for the blind and
low vision but, at present my requests have gone unanswered.

Subject: Dating sites

Hello everyone,

I know this will likely seem like an odd question to ask. But I figured what
could it hurt?

I was wondering, does anyone know of dating sites in the US, that are
pretty accessible with the iPhone, or iPad?

I find using my iPhone tends to be easier for me.

But I am looking for free, or sites that aren't too expensive. Ones that
are as accessible as possible. It doesn't matter if it's sites for
people with disabilities, or ones for people without, or mixed. I am
trying to keep my options open, here.

I know last year, I think it was, that Plenty of Fish was pretty accessible.

However, I would get a lot of these things that would say, so and so
wants to meet you. But when I would look at the profile, I knew it
couldn't be someone interested in me. And no, I am not saying that due
to my disabilities. It just wouldn't make sense.

So if anyone has any thoughts, or ideas, I would appreciate hearing them.

Thank you,

Terri

RE: Dating sites

2017-09-13 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Keep in mind that typically dating sites are like products in that you get what
you pay for. Anything that is free is likely to have a lot of fake stuff on it,
if people have to pay a membership there is a much greater likelyhood they are
actually serious about finding somebody for real.

I met my wife who is from the Philippines on
www.ChristianCafe.com. We met in late 2008 and
that was for the most part before the age of accessible smartphones and apps. I
did have an accessible Windows Mobile smartphone with MobileSpeak at the time,
but apps were not really available for these phones at the time and certainly
not in the sense as we think of apps nowadays. ChristianCafe.com however was
and probably still is quite accessible on the computer; it's not like I have to
use it any more since our nice tropical wedding in the Philippines ☺.

Regards,

Sieghard

Facebook, they're everywhere.

Ek!... one search turned up a gay-blind list/group.

So, a good search term is as much as it needs.

Before anybody jumps on it, i'm not being judgemental, just saying.
