RE: Does anyone else lose voice over after they listen to a voicemail?

I do, but today, had several, just got Siri to play them - worked just fine!
I'm glad someone suggested doing that.

Hi,
I'm loosing VO with several apps when coming out of the lock screen. I have to
turn VO off then back on for it to work again. This just started after the
latest update.
Thx -Steve

I can use Siri to listen to voicemails without any problems.
It is only when I try to listen to them through the phone app that I have
problems.

For those who have never used Siri to do this, here is what you would say:

Say, Play Voicemails.
Siri will tell you how many total voice mails you have, both new and saved.
Then ask you if you want her to play the first one, which will be the first
unplayed one. Once done one, she will ask if you want her to play the next one,
which would include any voicemails you have saved.

Say, new voicemails?
Siri will tell you if you have any new voicemails and offer to play the first
one. At the end of playing each one, she ask you if you want to call back or
play the next one.

You can also play one that you have saved, previously listened to but did not
delete. For example, lets say I have a voicemail from Edward that I listened to
but did not delete yet.
Say, Play voicemail from Edward.
Siri will tell you that you have no new voicemails from Edward, but you do have
a saved one and do you want her to play it.
Just say yes to play that saved voicemail.

Hope this has been helpful.

I am using ios 13.41, and I am not positive that it is an ios issue, but I do
know as soon as I start playing a voice mail in the phone app, I lose voice
over.

I now use Siri to play my voice mail and that seems to work just fine.

I don't myself but I know someone who does so that's why I was asking if it did
make any difference. Also, it may make a difference of what phone a person has
but since I have no problem with the 6S plus, then I don't know.

Hello,
Yes I have seen this issue also. I would second Paul's suggestion on reporting
this to Apple accessibility and attempting to be as specific as possible.

hearing a Voicemail.

Hi,
Yes, I have seen this. This has happened to me a couple of times, but it feels
as though I usually have to click my home button to turn voiceover off, then
wait a couple of seconds to turn it back on. It is super annoying, though.

Hi,

Whenever I listen to a voicemail, voice-over cuts out for several seconds or
until I press the home button to exit the phone app altogether. Has anyone else
seen this behavior?

I’m running 13.6 on a 2nd gen SE.

Thanks

For whatever reason, if I use a wired headset, I do not lose Voiceover after
hearing a Voicemail.
It is still a nasty bug though, and I have written to Apple Accessibility.
Thanks..

Hello,
Yes I have seen this issue also. I would second Paul's suggestion on reporting
this to Apple accessibility and attempting to be as specific as possible.

RE: Does anyone else lose voice over after they listen to a voicemail?

2020-08-08 Thread Paul JOrdan
I’ve seen several similar emails talking about the same issue. I think this is
worth reporting !Apple accessibility. I have already done so and got a response
from them asking several questions about when and how this occurs. Since I
heard back from them I haven’t seen the problem so haven’t been able to further
describe the issue. Still, the more people they hear from the better.

God bless!

Subject: Does anyone else lose voice over after they listen to a voicemail?

Hi,

Whenever I listen to a voicemail, voice-over cuts out for several seconds or
until I press the home button to exit the phone app altogether. Has anyone else
seen this behavior?

I’m running 13.6 on a 2nd gen SE.

Thanks

Hi,

Yes, I'm having the same issue. Instead of closing the app, double tap the
bottom of the screen where the favorite, Recent calls etc tabs are. This will
bring back voiceover. All you have to do then, is go back into voicemail to
delete the message or listen to other voicemail messages. Easier than closing &
reopening the app.
