I'm still using ios 7.12 on my first generation ipad mini.  That must be the 
reason for the problem I'm having.

I just checked the app store and found no update for downcast.  From time to
time, I have the problem when doing a two finger doubletap, the potcast
won't stop playing.  I hope this new release fixes this problem.

I downloaded the update to Downcast yesterday, and now nothing will play.
Not old episodes that I was saving, and not new episodes that I just
downloaded.
I have tried taking downcast out of the app switcher and restarting my
phone, but nothing has helped.

Since I download my podcast to my device, I really do not want to delete the
app because I do not want to lose all of the episodes that I am saving.
Does anyone have any suggestions, or know of a way that I can delete and
reinstall the app without losing all of the episodes I have currently saved.

I did send an email to the developer explaining the problem that has
occurred, but have not heard anything back.

Hi all, this issue affects people running Downcast on versions of iOS below 
9.0. Your options are to:
1 upgrade to iOS 9.1,
2 join the Downcast beta program so you can receive a build where the option is 
fixed,
3 wait until the beta process is over and an update in the App Store will fix 
the issue,
4 or use another client.

The developers said that you could update to ios 9, and that would solve the 
problem, or they said there would be an update to the downcast app to address 
the problem for ios 8 users.
So you can either update to ios 9, or wait for the update for Downcast to come.

Personally, I have started using the Overcast app until the Downcast update 
becomes available.

My husband, who is using an Ipod running 7.x, had to update to 9.x in
order to get the player in downcast to work. Now all is well again.

When was this update released?

I just checked the app store and found no update for downcast.  From time to 
time, I have the problem when doing a two finger doubletap, the potcast 
won't stop playing.  I hope this new release fixes this problem.

Hello Gary,

Mine was not an automatic update, I started it myself.

I am not sure what you are running, but I am running ios 8.4 on an iphone 6.
It is a very strange thing.  Everything works just fine except the player just 
does not play anything.

It looks like the player somehow got corrupted or something.

Try powering down your phone. If this doesn't work uninstall and reinstall the
