RE: Duel sim card iPhone

2020-04-15 Thread Simon A Fogarty
Hi Richard,

I believe the iPhones 10S and 11 range have dual sims in that they have the
physical sim and an eSim opton.

The only thing is that eSims are not used everywhere and therefore not going to
work if the customers provider doesn’t use the eSim technology.

Not an issue for the USA I believe but definitely not something we have here in
new Zealand.

I’d be inclined to contact apple tech support and ask them about dual / esim
technologys in their phones.

I have a client through my work that needs a new phone, and is going for an

might have experience with how that works.

Hello Richard,
I use a dual sim card iPhone. It is the XR. Your client should get iPhone XR
and above. I am using AT as my carrier. As soon as I got my iPhone, I called
AT and had them switch me to an electronic sim card service. They sent me a
card in the mail and asked me to scan with my iPhone camera. After I did what I
was instructed to do, I called ATT and they took some info and switched me to
electronic sim service. As soon as my line became active, I opened the physical
sim card tray, took the card out and threw it in the trash. Now, I have my
physical sim card tray empty. Anytime I travel overseas, I just buy a local
sim card in the country I am visiting and put in the sim card tray. The phone
recognizes that there is a new line added and asks me if I want the new line to
be my primary number or secondary number. I usually keep the new temporary
number as secondary but I also choose that my outgoing calls be made from the
secondary number. When I return back to the US, I take the temporary physical
sim card out and revert back to my ATT electronic sim card primary number.
If you have more questions, please do not hesitate.

Regards,
tray
