Re: Exporting with KNFB Reader

Hi Sieghard,
Sure thing.
Open the file explorer screen.
Then, double tap on the edit button.
Then, do a one finger flick right until you find the document you want to
export. You will hear a delete option first, then the next flick gets you to
the document name.
Double tap and several options will appear. Flick right to Export and double
tap.
This is where things are not quite perfect yet.
The first time, you have to export as KNFB format. Then once you have done
that, open the app switcher and go back to KNFB Reader and export in txt or
html.
The next document you export, you won't have to do the KNFB format.
HTH,
Richard

RE: Exporting with KNFB Reader

2014-09-21 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Thanks, Richard, everything worked as you described. I did, however, not even
go all the way to save the KNFB format file. I just selected KNFB as the
format, then selected Dropbox. At this point I cancelled out of Dropbox, went
back to KNFB and changed it to text file and it worked. Yes, a small bug, but
not a big deal.

By the way, I have not had time to read the manual, do you know what that low
sound means. It sounds like a very short blast of a fog horn at super low
volume. When I am in the KNFB Reader app I get it about every 5 seconds or so.
I am asking because I do believe this is another bug, but something when I go
back out of KNFB Reader by pressing the home button that sound continues to
play every few seconds until I finally get tired of it and throw KNFB Reader
out of the app switcher.

Hi Sieghard,
Well, you must have the automatic detection turned on, that is the sound when
it is looking for text. Go into the select profile and select manual.
I think it could know if the app is in the background, it would stop looking
for text.
If you have it on manual, then something is wrong.

OK, makes sense. I did turn automatic picture, but since I probably prefer to
control when the picture is taken I turned it back to manual now. Interestingly
enough when I had it set to automatic it would work sometimes but not all the
time. I guess it is version 1.0.

In order to successfully export a file, one must save the file as a KNFB
Reader file first. Then what you will want to do is click the plane text or
HTML option again. Then you will want to click dropbox or Google Drive or
whatever program you would like to open it in. That is a workaround to fix
the bug. This may want to be noted in the manual. I have successfully
uploaded files to Google Drive using this workaround. It's a weird
workaround I know, but it does work.

Yes, but let's hope if enough people report it to the developer that it will
be fixed, this is version 1.0 after all.

annoying bug.

Hi Richard,

Could you give a few pointers as to how to export a file? I just haven’t seen
an Export option or, for that matter, a file format option. All I get is a Save
