Sometimes the orientation gets off if the battery is wearing out. That happened
to me after about a year. The second battery is still doing well for about 18
months now. However, Neato suggests replacing the battery after about 6 months
“under normal use”- whatever that is 

Well, I know my Mom’s experience and maybe that is because one border collie
probably produces a lot more fur than 3 cats, also I guess it depends on the
size of the house and how much stuff you have. I have been there when my Mom
had her Neato running and sometimes there is no explanation why it goes where
it goes, here it seems to do the main open area of the living room in an
efficient pattern only to suddenly drive off to vacuum in front of the couch
where it drives back and forth more than it needs to and then it goes off into
the kitchen or elsewhere only to come back in the living room and do some of
what it did before all over again. Maybe it can’t get it’s orientation right,
my parents house is a log home and the living room has a 16 or 18 foot vaulted
ceiling, my Mom says often when it’s in her bedroom which at about 25 feet by
15 feet is also large, it does a better job than in the rest of the house.

It really is easy to clean though. We have 3 cats and in their favorite hangout
rooms, the fur does accumulate enough to dump the dirt bin and clean the
brushes. However this is very quick and easy. the reason the fur fills the bin
and roller so quickly is because the Neato does such an outstanding job of
sucking up pet hair. There is no comparison to the huge amount of hair picked
up by our Neato with that picked up by our old powerful industrial class
upright! We love the amazing mapping feature of our Neato also compared to the
“bump and turn” random motion of others. The mapping allows Neato to finish a
job in a fraction of the time of the round bounce-off-the-walls-and-furniture”
type. And… it’s quiet!

The claim of “easy to clean” is debatable. My Mom has one and while her border
collie has now gone to doggie heaven, when she still had him she said she
pretty much had to take the thing apart after at least every cleaning/use and
completely clean out the brushes and everything or it would not function
properly. In fact, I used to want one of these but after her experience I
decided these were maybe not quite ready for prime time.

I have had the D85- the model for pets- for about 3 years now. If an
accessible connected model is going to be available shortly though- I’d
certainly wait and get that one. I used the Bed, Bath and Beyond 20% off coupon
to get $100 off and just paid $400 for mine. One of the best purchases we’ve
ever made.

It takes only a couple of minutes to empty the bin and clean the brushes. This

That is to bad. I have read a lot of reviews about them and they are pretty
favorable. With having several cats and dogs, that was my complaint about the
Roomba's I had as well. Cleaning the brushes and roller took more time then
the vacuuming did.

Neato robotic vacuums set to get Siri Shortcuts in the fall By Amber Neely
Friday, August 02, 2019, 04:49 am PT (07:49 am ET)

Neato, a company that specializes in robotic vacuums, has announced that it
will be adding in support for Siri shortcuts in the fall. If you've got
yourself a Neato vacuum, soon you'll be able to use Siri Shortcuts for remote
control. Users will be able to issue voice commands to tell their Neato vacuum
to begin a preset cleaning cycle, stop cleaning, or set up shortcuts to tell
the vacuum to clean a specific area. Users will also be able to send the vacuum
to the charging base via Siri Shortcut as well. If you're not the type to talk
to your vacuum, the Neato robot vacuum will attempt to to learn when and where
to sweep and offer lock-screen suggestions. There's no specific time frame for
when this update will release. Neato has stated this update will roll out with
a firmware update set to release this fall, likely following the release of iOS
13 and macOS Catalina. All of Neato's current vacuums are set to get the
update. Neato vacuums currently work with myriad services, including an Apple
Watch app, Wear OS services, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and even through
Facebook Messenger. Siri Shortcuts debuted in iOS 12 in 2018 . The system was
built from Workflow, an app that Apple purchased in 2017 , Shortcuts delivers
app and system control options through a drag-and-drop card UI, that can be
invoked by Siri. AppleInsider reviewed the Neato Botvac Connected back in 2016,
and found it to be one of the best robot vacuum cleaners available on the
market. In addition to offering controls via iPhone and Apple Watch, it also
supports complex scheduling functions, cleans very well, and is easy to empty
and clean. .

I have the botac connected I really don't remember how I set it up now, but I
think I needed cited help for the very original setup. mind you, the app was
much less access a ball then. One time, when I got into a mess with it, and
there was no one here with me, are used be my eyes to sort it out. most of the
time, I don't use the app I just press the button. in the past I have had
several roombersand more recently the Neato, I find the Neato is the best! it
is also cheaper and has very good mobility skills, better than mine… I don't
know about the more recent roombers, but one thing the neato does, if it
can't get back to the doc, it goes back to the place where you set it off. So,
you always know where it will be.

Sandy,
Which model Neato do you have and were you able to connect to wifi without
sighted assistance?

Sieghard,
Now any kind of collie is going to be a challenge to a lot of hoovers
especially those with rotating brushes. even though your mum had the task of
completely emptying and re-systemising the brushes and the bin, her floors did
get hoovered! if a person is a bit arthritic or, like me, doesn't see at all,
hoovering is very problematic. unless you're home is completely empty,
something very difficult to achieve when you live with other people, hoovering
is a pain in the neck when you don't see. so, although I don't have to empty
mind every time, even if I did, I would find it a very reasonable trade-off for
nice clean floors and no headache. as for all this setting it going via Siri,
I did once set it off With Alexa, but my poor neato botvac proceeded to bang
its head repeatedly against the wall until I sent it home. generally speaking,
it's easiest just to press the button.

2019-08-02 Thread Esther Levegnale
I also have a central vacuum system, plus a Roomba robotic vacuum cleaner. The
Roomba goes all over the house and if there is extra cleaning to do, it may do
some areas twice, but most of the time it vacuums once. I have a little bird
which is a cockatiel and I often wonder what he thinks when he sees the thing
go all over the living room! Smiley. For those of you who don’t know what a
cockatiel is, he is a small parrot and if I must say, he’s 14 and really
adorable!

Exactly, we have a central vac system which is very powerful and getting
out the hose and vacuuming our entire 1,100 square foot upstairs takes maybe
10 or 15 minutes. Then maybe every 3 or 4 month I go downstairs, take off
the bucket and dump it.

That is to bad. I have read a lot of reviews about them and they are
pretty favorable. With having several cats and dogs, that was my complaint
about the Roomba's I had as well. Cleaning the brushes and roller took more
time then the vacuuming did.

The claim of “easy to clean” is debatable. My Mom has one and while her
border collie has now gone to doggie heaven, when she still had him she said
she pretty much had to take the thing apart after at least every
cleaning/use and completely clean out the brushes and everything or it would
not function properly. In fact, I used to want one of these but after her
experience I decided these were maybe not quite ready for prime time.

Neato, a company that specializes in robotic vacuums, has announced that
it will be adding in support for Siri shortcuts in the fall. If you've got
yourself a Neato vacuum, soon you'll be able to use Siri Shortcuts for
remote control. Users will be able to issue voice commands to tell their
Neato vacuum to begin a preset cleaning cycle, stop cleaning, or set up
shortcuts to tell the vacuum to clean a specific area. Users will also be
able to send the vacuum to the charging base via Siri Shortcut as well. If
you're not the type to talk to your vacuum, the Neato robot vacuum will
attempt to to learn when and where to sweep and offer lock-screen
suggestions. There's no specific time frame for when this update will
release. Neato has stated this update will roll out with a firmware update
set to release this fall, likely following the release of iOS 13 and macOS
Catalina. All of Neato's current vacuums are set to get the update. Neato
vacuums currently work with myriad services, including an Apple Watch app,
Wear OS services, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and even through Facebook
Messenger. Siri Shortcuts debuted in iOS 12 in 2018 . The system was built
from Workflow, an app that Apple purchased in 2017 , Shortcuts delivers app
and system control options through a drag-and-drop card UI, that can be
invoked by Siri. AppleInsider reviewed the Neato Botvac Connected back in
2016, and found it to be one of the best robot vacuum cleaners available on
the market. In addition to offering controls via iPhone and Apple Watch, it
also supports complex scheduling functions, cleans very well, and is easy to
empty and clean. .

Exactly, we have a central vac system which is very powerful and getting out
the hose and vacuuming our entire 1,100 square foot upstairs takes maybe 10 or
15 minutes. Then maybe every 3 or 4 month I go downstairs, take off the bucket
and dump it.

That is to bad. I have read a lot of reviews about them and they are pretty
favorable. With having several cats and dogs, that was my complaint about the
Roomba's I had as well. Cleaning the brushes and roller took more time then
the vacuuming did.
