RE: Radium iPhone app is free today (November 24, 2013)
I love its xm interface. A couple things confuse me. Is there a way to stop the music? It appears the toggle pauses, which implies it is streaming in the background and would drain your battery. When searching for new stations, the genres I see seem totally random. Is there a way to see more? I don't see how to manually add stations. Mushroom fm is there, but not mushroom escape. I'd love to add it, but don't see how. Thanks BTW, as of 9:50 central, this app is still free. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Andy Baracco Sent: Monday, November 25, 2013 6:41 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: Radium iPhone app is free today (November 24, 2013) I am enjoying it very much. I don't use a Mac but downloaded this app and found it to be quite nice. I really like the straight forward simple interface, very uncluttered. So far I actually prefer it over Tune-in radio and some of other radio apps I have. Since it was free, it was worth a try and I'm glad I grabbed it. I agree with the note below. However, I was wondering if it is possible to transfer the presets one makes from one iPhone to another? There appears to be an ability to sync devices but no matter what I do, I cannot get it to activate. Thanks. I thought I downloaded the right app, it said Radium Perfect Internet Radio. But when I looked at the details of the app I got it said it was a game, a radial type of challenge game. Well, everyone has a SiriusXm account. The user name and password you enter on-line gives you access to your account where you can pay your bill, see the Radio ID's for your receivers, etc. But, I presume you need to have approved SiriusXM Internet Radio in order to use the Sirius XM account on Radium. It might be possible to have a different UserName for the internet access part of your account, mine isn't but I recall that you could do that. I agree about the desirability of being able to group stations into folders. The more favorites you get, the more necessary such groupings are. Re: Radium iPhone app is free today (November 24, 2013)
Hi Wayne, Yes, this app can be used independently of the Mac radium app. However, this is the developer's first iOS app release. Their first try (mid-late September) had accessibility issues. The next version with VoiceOver fixes came out a few weeks ago. And this version is from a few days ago. I consider this quite usable, but I think the interface will get even better over time. At present, you can still do more with the Mac version of the app. -- but that's had VoiceOver accessibility for some years now. And so, you can sync the Mac operations up to the iOS version, and currently do a but more. This app is still free in the U.S. Store, and quite usable, separately. But if you want to wait until it has more features, you may have to get a paid version at a higher price later. I also note that Les and others are discussing how to use SiriusXM subscriptions just from the iPhone Radium app, Cheers, Esther On Sunday, November 24, 2013 4:57:04 PM UTC-10, Wayne Merritt wrote: Is there any benefit to this app if you don't have a Mac?
