Re: Recording an audio iMessage with an iphone 12.
I have an 8 Plus and I recall turning 3D touch off at one point because it was getting in the way, actually. There is a way to send audio messages through Siri. Don’t know what the time limit is, presumably as ong as Siri recognizes you talking or whatever the chunk limit is that Siri can handle. There may be ways of using the back tap or custom defined gestures I haven’t messed with to achieve what you want as well. Applvis had a short podcast in September that was a demo of how to send an audio message with Siri. RE: Recording an audio iMessage with an iphone 12.
Took it out in the iPhone 12 line, -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of Matthew Bullis Sent: Saturday, 5 December 2020 3:41 pm To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Recording an audio iMessage with an iphone 12. Hello, I upgraded from a 6 s plus to a 12 pro max. I don't remember when they took 3d touch out of the phones, but my 6 s plus has it, and this one doesn't. That hasn't been a big deal, because I just one finger double tap and hold and get the result I want. However, this isn't working so well when I want to make an audio iMessage. On the 6 s plus, I simply hold down on the record audio button, and whether it's a minute or two while I'm talking, it will end when I lift up. If I do this now on the new phone by double tap and hold, it will work for short messages of about five seconds, but it seems that if it goes ten seconds or longer, I lift my finger and voiceover says pause and the camera buttons and apps hidden. There doesn't seem to be a recording there anymore, and activating the pause turns to play, but no audio is played. Am I doing something wrong, or is this broken? It's one of my preferred ways of sending messages to other iphone users. Thanks,Matthew -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list.
