RE: So I have copied my iTunes folder off my thumb drive in to iTunes so am I all good now
Dear Alan- Recently I was trying to replace songs deleted from iTunes and restored from Recycle Bin. Could not figure out the procedure for adding back to library- even after reading several rather unspecific web answers. When you told Jen to "browse to the top folder", it seems like this would always be the iTunes>media>music folder- would it Not? Seems like this would add tons of duplicates to the library. Apparently I'm missing a step or two here :( Cher From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Alan Lemly Sent: Thursday, October 08, 2015 5:59 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: So I have copied my itunes folder off my thumb drive in to itunes so am I all good now Jan, If I understand your post, you've copied all your iTunes media content which came from a flash drive where it was pasted from an older system to your music folder on your laptop. iTunes manages all the media on your computer through the iTunes library which is a file with a series of pointers amongst other things to the actual music files on your computer. You will need to go into iTunes, and select File, add folder to library, and browse to the top folder under which you pasted all your media on your laptop in order to get the iTunes library populated. RE: So I have copied my iTunes folder off my thumb drive in to iTunes so am I all good now
Cher, When I told Jen to browse to the top folder, I was advising from the perspective that she had yet to add any of that music which she had copied to her computer from a flash drive to her iTunes library. You are right that the top folder in my system would be iTunes Media\Music and also correct that if this had been done previously, duplicates would be added to the library. In your case, once you've located the tracks restored from your recycle bin, I'd suggest that you paste them into your iTunes Media\Automatically Add to iTunes folder to see if iTunes automatically adds them back to your library the next time you launch it. Re: So I have copied my itunes folder off my thumb drive in to itunes so am I all good now
Hi, I got the music all figured out and it plays on my lap top just fine. Now I am still having trouble finding a way in itunes to not have itunes install my apps. Problem is I have to many apps and music so phone can’t hold them all so have chosen a few apps to intall that I have selected via the phone using the purchased button in the itunes store. However when I connect the phone to my pc, it wants me to install all kinds of apps. I have installed nvda as suggested by someone on list but haven’t come up with a sollution. All I want to do is add my music not any apps. How do I do this without sighted help. Thanks.
