Carolyn:

You do a single finger double tap on the dictation button, and a two finger
double tap to stop.

Editing takes a little practice, but you use the rotor to go by character, word
or line and then turn the rotor to the edit position and select the text and
choose the edit you want.

Also, you can move through your message by word or character and just delete
the letters with the delete key on the keyboard.

You can probably find some tutorials on editing by doing a Google search or
maybe someone on the list can help you out.

2019-10-19 Thread Shirley Baker
Whenever you dictate anything, you double tap on dictate and when you are
through, you do the same. I use this on rare occasions and don't use Siri to
dictate but just use her to call someone. I am using a 6S plus phone and not
having any problems with the latest update as so many others have expressed.

Hello list,

So I took the plunge and upgraded my SE that I use as a second line for
business yesterday.

I’m thankfully not experiencing that VO phone call bug, but am coming across a
frustrating issue with Siri that I don’t recall others bringing up.

Anyway, it seems now after upgrading, Siri is super super slow to outright
unresponsive.

It doesn’t matter if I initiate Siri with either the touch ID button on the
physical device or via my Bluetooth earpiece (Plantronics 5200), Siri takes
forever to come up and give me that tone indicating that I should make my
request/command. Once I tell Siri to dial a number or call X contact or
whatever, again, the phone will take forever to respond and if I’m lucky, I’ll
get the Siri voice telling me to please wait or that the process is taking a
bit followed by a please try again later, but more often than not, it just does
nothing as if Siri is still waiting for me to speak.

Again, this only started after I upgraded my SE from V 12.4.1 to 13.1.3.

Anyone else in fact dealing with this Siri issue?

The dictation feature that is available on the phone is much more accurate than
Siri, and you can take your time and also go back and edit things.

I have had horrible luck with Siri's dictation for me. Only use her for very
short text.

RE: Upgraded to iOS 13.1.3 on SE and now have Siri issues

2019-10-18 Thread Gerardo Corripio
No problems with Siri on my SE. Have you tried restarting the phone? Sometimes
these little annoyances resolve themselves after a restart. Good luck!

Asunto: Upgraded to iOS 13.1.3 on SE and now have Siri issues

Hello list,
So I took the plunge and upgraded my SE that I use as a second line for
business yesterday.

The dictation feature that is available on the phone is much more accurate

I have had horrible luck with Siri's dictation for me. Only use her for

Using 13.1.3, Siri is slower, and especially really slower with dictated texts
to her. I never learned how to use Dictation that the phone offers, always have
used Siri.

2019-10-18 Thread Richard Turner
Depending how long ago the upgrade was done, the phone may still be indexing
itself.
It can take a day or more to settle down.
A reboot and at least a reset of network settings might help.
Also, make sure Voice Control didn't get turned on if you are not using it.
It shouldn't have, but I am learning never assume.
