If you are in the trash folder, double tap the edit button in the upper right corner, then check the lower left corner and you will find a delete all button. Double tap that and there will be a confirmation to delete all slightly above that spot. Here's the fastest way that I have found. When in the inbox, double tap on the edit button near the top. Double tap or split tap each message you want to delete. At the bottom left corner, there is a delete button. When multiple messages are selected, it also tells you how many. Just double tap that delete button and they are all gone. When I do this, Richard, there is a purge button in the lower left that is dimmed. I would then need to choose each message, then purge. I just realized that we are talking at cross purposes. I didn't pay close enough attention. I gather there is an app called youmail that you all are talking about. I was talking about the native mail app. So, forget what I said. I know nothing of the youmail app. Sorry about that.
