RE: apps not deleting from iphone using itunes

2015-07-25 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Dave,

I am so sorry that you are having this experience.

To be honest, your post is somewhat vague.

For example, what version of iTunes for Windows are you using? and, just so we
know, what version of Windows? It would also be quite helpful to know what
software screen reading solution you use on your PC.

The scenario you described in your post, is also confusing because it sounds,
to me at least, as though you are attempting to delete unwanted apps from your
iTunes Library, itself, as opposed to merely removing the apps from the iPhone.
There is a big difference between these two operations.

Assuming that you merely wish to delete apps from your iPhone, only, I suggest
that you use the delete gesture on your iPhone, itself, to remove an app.

Now I realize that this does not answer your question, directly but it will get
you started in the right direction in terms of cleaning up your iPhone.

To begin the troubleshooting process, I suggest the following:

1.
While the phone is not connected to your PC, reboot both the phone and the PC.

2.
Connect your phone to your PC and sync it with iTunes.

3.
After successfully syncing, disconnect the phone from the PC.

4.
On the phone, itself, delete an app.

5.
Connect the phone to the PC and sync it with iTunes.

6.
Before disconnecting the phone, yet again, explore the phone, itself, to see if
the app reappears anywhere on the Springboard. If it does not, then all is
well. If it does, let us know.

Good Luck,

Mark

Subject: apps not deleting from iphone using itunes

Hi. I keep trying to delete apps using itunes on my pc and want to delete them
from my iphone 6 running iOS 8.4 But when I select my iphone from within
itunes, then apps, then my iphone apps, then right click, hit delete, I select
either the keep files option or move to recyle bin, doesn’t matter which. Then
if I sync, the apps all come back to my iphone. It’s really annoying and I
don’t know how to stop it and it’s really annoying, I know, I said that
already. But what do I do? There are a good many apps I just don’t use or that
weren’t accessible and are still clogging up my iphone.

Please help, thanks, Dave

RE: apps not deleting from iphone using itunes

2015-07-25 Thread Dave Bahr
Apologies, Mark, I should have clarified. Running itunes version iTunes
12.1.2.27
64-bit

Using windows 8.1 64 bit Using window-eyes screen reader. As far as deleting
apps, yes, I can delete them from the phone, I just wanted a faster way to do
that since the only way I know if doing it is to do the double tap and hold and
then delete with another double tap. I should really just get a Bluetooth
keyboard. I'd like to delete both from my library and from the iphone, I just
want those apps gone from my account, but mostly off the phone.

I will try your suggestion about deleting and resyncing apps. Thanks for that
process, I appreciate it. It makes sense, I just couldn't figure out the
sequence of steps to do it in.

RE: apps not deleting from iphone using itunes

2015-07-25 Thread Dave Bahr
Well, if I delete the app from the iphone and then reopen itunes, then select
iphone apps, it seems to be gone from the list. So that's good, I was just
hoping to delete it on my pc and then have the app deleted from my iphone when
I synced it. I guess that's not possible? Seems strange, if I have the Iphone
apps selected, but I guess it only deletes from the itunes media folder even if
you do tell it to move to recycle bin. Odd, and frustrating. Ok, I guess it's
just a lot of going through the iphone and deleting apps. Any other
suggestions?
Thanks, Dave

RE: apps not deleting from iphone using itunes

2015-07-25 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Dave,

Ah, now I understand your objective.

In short, here is how it works. I'm keeping in mind that your ultimate
objective is to both remove the app from your phone and from your iTunes
Library.

There are two ways of accomplishing this but regardless of which method you
use, remember that if the app exist on your phone, unless you change a setting
in iTunes on your PC, the phone's list of apps will always take precedence when
next connected to your PC.

Therefore, if, while the phone is not connected to your PC, you delete an app
from your PC's iTunes Library, yet the app exist on your phone, attaching the
phone to your PC will simply copy the app from the phone back to the PC giving
you the mistaken impression that you were unsuccessful in deleting the app from
your PC, in the first place.

So, if you want to both remove an app from your iTunes Library and also delete
it from your phone in one session, so-to-speak, I suggest the following
sequence:

1.
Before connecting your phone to the PC, reboot both devices.

2.
Connect the phone to your PC and open iTunes on your PC.

3.
From within iTunes on your PC, select the iPhone and then go into its list of
apps. Select the apps, one-by-one, that you wish to remove from your phone.
After you have selected all of the apps you wish to remove from the phone,
sync the device by clicking on the Apply button. You will need to confirm
your selection. AT this point, the apps will have been removed from the phone
but are still in your iTunes Library.

4.
Disconnect the phone from your PC.

5.
While still in iTunes on your PC, locate the list of apps and delete the
unwanted apps using the method of your choice.

At this point, the apps will have been removed from both your device and from
your iTunes Library.

The next time you connect your phone, and subsequently sync it, the apps will
not return.

One more thing, you cannot remove your purchase history from your Apple ID.
This is of no real consequence given your current objective.

Mark
