I don’t know about the iPad mini.

 

For the iPhone, go to Settings, then General, then About.

 

For iOS 16.6, the Wi-Fi Address is near the top of the second page and is after 
the information about memory capacity and available.

Usually when an App is asking for permission, it will be changing something in 
the permissions area.
A WiFI configuration application will need to talk directly to your WIfI 
devices in order to work so this should be OK. Generally, apps are not allowed 
to see certain network parameters, since they would identify the user and allow 
tracking. I believe all applications that use the Chrome Cast protocol also 
need this permission.
