RE: how many iphones can be hooked up to itunes
Apple Support has a fairly extensive article entitled View and remove your associated devices in iTunes at the following website: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204074 According to that site, you can have up to 10 devices associated with your Apple ID, 5 of which can be computers. I'm pasting the first part of that article after my signature but you'll have to execute the link to read the entire article. Alan Lemly In iTunes on a Mac or PC, you can view a list of devices associated with your Apple ID and remove the devices that you no longer want associated. Your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, PC, or Android phone automatically associate with your Apple ID and iTunes when you use certain iTunes features. After a device associates, you can use it to download and play music, movies, TV shows, etc. that you previously bought from the iTunes Store. You can also turn on Automatic Downloads on an associated device. You can have ten devices (no more than five of them computers) associated with your Apple ID and iTunes at one time. The list of associated devices that you can view in iTunes is not the same as the list of devices that you're currently signed in to with your Apple ID. You can check your Apple ID device list to see where you're signed in on your Apple ID account page. You don't need to associate your devices to buy content or download new purchases. You can remove an associated device if: You reach your limit of associations and want to add a new one. You can't download past purchases from the iTunes Store. You want to sell or give away an associated device. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of dani pagador Sent: Thursday, May 23, 2019 1:18 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: how many iphones can be hooked up to itunes Hi, Robert. Hi, Robert. I use my computer and iTunes to back up both my iPhone and my Mom's iPhone. If I understand things, iTunes can only be connected to one Apple ID at a time. So if I'm going to work with my Mom's phone, I have to sign out and sign in with her info when I hook her phone up. Well, what I am thinking is that let’s say that you your spouse and your sister all have iPhones. Unless you all have the same taste how would iTunes determine which device is different from the other if they are under the same name. for example My iPhone is called iPhone XR and my wife’s is iPhone 6+. Re: how many iphones can be hooked up to itunes
Hi, Robert, we never had any other devices on itunes. The 3 iphones are on the same account, but only 2 of the 3 show up. We're new to apple so this account is 14 months old. Thank you.
