Thinking about this, I think the gorilla glass screen protector is against scratching, I suspect impact dropping would still crack the screen, probably the gorilla glass protector too. Re: iPhone 6plus and otterbox
hello bob, i had no problem with otterbox, for my 4, and 5s,but, now i have the 6plus, and otterbox defender case does not fit tight enouhg in my case the middle i really have to press very hard for the iphone to respond. there were several people that suggested to cut the plastic face covering off, and put some kind of covering on the glass of the iphone, another option was to order a battery case and gorilla glass or something else to cover. so i found a battery case 4800 mAh case for about 20 bucks, and it uses the lightning cable to charge, but then i have no way to carry it, i found a pouch with belt clip, but its for a 6plus not in any kind of case lol. i have enough friends with 6plus or 6 to give or sell the pouch and battery case, cause i like the otterbox belt clip to carry iphone . on a side note, i am really liking amazon prime 30 day free trial i may even pay he annual $99 because all the little items i have mentioned above i received in 2 day and no sales tax or shipping very cool so good hunting on the boys with toys internet and thanx for all the help from the group the curmudgeon On Jul 20, 2015, at 12:59 AM, 'RobH.' via VIPhone viphone@googlegroups.com wrote: Tell me more about this solution, it sounds like one I'd like, and hope to go up to the 6+ soon, and will be taking that route iin cases. OOooh!...if you have a SpeedDots protector inside the Otterbox, the dots will hold the Otterbox screen protector clear of the surface. Hi, Sieghard. Does your wife have glass screen protector instead of the original piece of plastic in Otterbox? Thanks! -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Sieghard Weitzel Sent: Wednesday, July 15, 2015 8:56 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: iPhone 6plus and otterbox Why not take out the Otterbox screen protector, the Defender case has a relatively large, high rim so even if the phone falls the screen will not hit the ground unless you drop it on rocks or gravel. I have an Otterbox Defender case for my 5S and my wife has one for her 6 and we both punched out the plastic screen protector which is just glued in. I heard some people cut it out with a razor or very sharp knife, but you can take it out easily enough. I have my 6 in an otterbox and have no trouble except that I can't engage touch to unlock or touch anything on the home button. Have tried several times, now give up, it isn't essential in the way I use the phone. Otherwise, everything works as it did on the 4S I traded up from. Re: iPhone 6plus and otterbox
eBay might be your problem there. I would only buy from Apple or a phone retailer. I’m also told there are some sensitivity issues with the 6+. Re: iPhone 6plus and otterbox
Hi, I can't say what is causing the random reboot sadly but can vouch for the fact that there were some significant design issues some encountered with otterbox's offerings for the 6Plus. I went with a similar type case called the supcase unicorn beetle I think it was and it hasn't exhibited the same issues and is at a slightly lower price point. Note I'm not the sort who puts my phone in high impact situations that'd threaten its well being so can't say unequivocally that this case would serve for instance those in construction or rugged outdoor life well but it's meet my needs quite handily in lieu of the Otterbox this go around anyway. Here's hoping your rebooting issues get sorted quickly. Perhaps some diagnostic runs through apple before you abandon ship or device as it were? Just a thought. Good luck with it. RE: iPhone 6plus and otterbox
I am having problem with Ottar Box too, not the booting up problem but problem of sensitivity. Specially in the middle, I have to tap the screen very hard. I think the screen-protector is not surface-to-surface snugly with the screen but rather there are some air-pockets at places in between. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Robin Frost Sent: Monday, July 13, 2015 6:32 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: iPhone 6plus and otterbox Hi, I can't say what is causing the random reboot sadly but can vouch for the fact that there were some significant design issues some encountered with otterbox's offerings for the 6Plus.
