RE: playing music on my iPhone from my network_The Tonido App

2013-09-12 Thread Alan Lemly
Max, it is possible to play music stored on your local computer network on
your iPhone if you have the Tonido app. This app is not for playing music on
a cloud server but will let you turn your own computer into a server where
you can access any of the files it contains. Tonido also has a music player
built into it and supports playlists so you have access to any of your music
without having to transfer it to a cloud server.

In order to use Tonido and set up your local computer as your personal cloud
source, you have to install the applicable Tonido Desktop program on your
computer. They have versions for most operating systems including Windows,
OSX, and Linux. Once you install the desktop software, you use it to set up
your Tonido account so that your mobile device can access the files on your
computer. Here's the link to the Tonido downloads page where you can get the
desktop program:

http://www.tonido.com/tonidodesktop_downloads/

After that is done, you can get the app for your mobile device and install
it. Here's a link to the Tonido app for the iPhone:

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/tonido-file-access-music-video/id388726418?m
t=8

I'm still playing around with Tonido but it seems to do everything it says
including the ability to play music on your local computer with its music
player.

Fanus, I've never done a podcast but since I'm not opposed
to learning
through new experiences, I'll start looking into a Tonido
podcast.

And to answer Hank, I still have some vision and use
ZoomText for my screen
reader so I don't know about the Tonido desktop app with
JAWS.
