RE: question how to remove albums from the music app on my eye phone 4s in order to make space to update the phone?

2014-09-23 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Mich,

In iOS 7 you dcan only delete single songs by swiping down on the song and
then double tapping when you hear Delete. This is the action rotor in
action so to speak, it works just like deleting emails. Unfortunately you
can't do this for entire albums or artists. It's possible again to do this
in iOS 8, but in iOS 7 you have to do this song by song. Once you delete all
songs from an album it will go away.

How did you get this music onto your phone in the first place? Did you buy
and download all these songs from iTunes and directly to you rphone or did
you sync this music to your phone using iTunes? If you used iTunes then
it';s much easier to remove it the same way, just uncheck the music you want
to remove and sync.

I assume you have read lots about iOS 8 and the issues people are having.
There are also several Podcasts on Applevis and Jonathan did an
interview/demonstration on the accessible world tech talk last night. If I
were you I'd think twice about upgrading on a 4s right now, you might be
better off waiting for iOS 8.0.1 which is probably only a couple of weeks
away to see if some of the more nasty Voiceover bugs will be fixed.

Regards,

Sieghard

2014-09-23 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Davy,

Are you sure the music you try to delete using the flick down is actually on
your device? I assume it might be music in your iCloud account which is music
you purchased but which is not downloaded to your device. I suggest you try and
go to Settings, iTunes and App Store and hide music and videos which are in the
cloud, this way you only see what is actually downloaded to you rdevice and you
should be able to delete that without problems.
