Re: transfering documents
Certainly can't put Windows on a touch, it is not a Mac like a real Mac is. Dropbox is the one reasonably reliable way to get at Word documents on your iOs device. - Original Message - From: martin nelson martinels...@verizon.net To: viphone@googlegroups.com Sent: Tuesday, August 18, 2015 3:38 PM Subject: transfering documents transfering documents from a pc to an ipod touch Hello: is it possible to transfer documents such as word documents from a pc and have them stored in an ipod touch? Re: transfering documents
I believe you can use iTunes file sharing to move word documents to the iPod touch. I don't think you can install them with windows though. The only way to do it is through iTunes as far as I know. Someone else may have a better idea. RE: transfering documents
Hi Martin, All models of the iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad are iOS devices hence iOS is the only operating system which will work; you can't install Windows on an iOS device the same way as you can on a Mac. As far as having Word documents on your iPod Touch, the short answer is Yes. You can achieve this in a number of ways. The easiest would be to install the Dropbox or OneDrive app on your iPod Touch as well as on your computer and to have the documents in a Dropbox or OneDrive folder. They would then show up on your iPod Touch and you can open and read them. If you want to also edit them you would have to install the Microsoft Word app from the App Store. I am not completely up-to-date on all the details regarding accessibility and what you can do, but I believe Microsoft has made Word quite accessible and I also think you no longer need an Office 365 subscription for many of the editing functions. You can probably get most of that information from the app description of the Word app and of course find a lot more by Googling Word for iOS. If you are not a Dropbox and/or OneDrive user, you can also get all the basic information by doing a Google search about these services. Keep in mind that if you want to use Word on your iPod Touch it's probably better to use OneDrive since it is from Microsoft and integrates better.
