RE: trying to run QR your wi-fi

2023-06-20 Thread llumpkin
Hi. Sorry for the mangled message. I meant my read easy max reading machine. I
can put the machine into what they call “distributor mode”. In this mode, I can
plug in a usb wi-fi dongle and a developer or some qualified person can connect
to it to get diagnostic info or core dumps, etc. In order to connect the wi-fi
dongle, I have to input my home network credentials. In the iphone’s shortcuts
app, there is an accessibility section that has suggested shortcuts, one of
them being “qr your wi-fi. If you run it right, you can turn your wi-fi
credentials into a qr code. When this qr code displays on the phone’s screen,
you can snap a picture of it with the readeasy max and the machine in turn
authorizes the dongle to connect. You then send IP addresses to the person
wishing to connect and he/she logs into the readeasy to do their work. I hope
this explains it better. I got some sighted help and managed to get the QR code
to display. Maybe voice over was hiding part of the process. I did get it done
some months earlier but couldn’t manage it yesterday. Thanks for your response
and thanks.

Hmm, I am trying to make sense of your message, but not having much success.
You say:

"I’m trying to run QR my wi-fi short" - maybe you dictated this and Siri made a
mess of it?

You also say "I have a reading machine which wants to snap a picture of the qr
code and enable the wi-fi dongle I have plugged in for remote access by the
developer."

Can you explain what "reading machine" you are talking about? Are you referring
to some other piece of hardware which has a USB Wi-Fi dongle? Are you using the
QR code scanner on the iPhone or is the QR code displayed on the iPhone and you
are trying to scan it with another device?

I’m trying to run QR my wi-fi short and am about to pull my hair out. I have a
reading machine which wants to snap a picture of the qr code and enable the
wi-fi dongle I have plugged in for remote access by the developer. I enter the
short cut and it finds my network. I enter the password and it seems to take it
but I can’t get further. I run the shortcut and it says I have 7 actions but
they never show up when I tap that item. The QR code never seems to show
because the camera can’t find it. Any help please.
