RE: A question about dictation
Keeping the home button down does not stop siri from interrupting my dictation- although some have suggested this so it must work for them ;) Cher From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Paul Sandoval Sent: Saturday, July 1, 2017 3:33 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: A question about dictation Mike, One thing you can do is hold the home button the entire time that you wish Siri to listen to you, this should eliminate the problems you have with pausing. Re: A question about dictation
That method of holding down the home button and saying send a message to John followed by what you want to say works quite well. That is my standard method of sending text messages, and as long as there are no gross dictation errors, it works great and you can send a full paragraph or so without Siri the siding you had enough. RE: A question about dictation
That’s just it. You would have to manually enter who it is going to, then double tap in the message edit box, then you could use the standard dictate feature. But, if yu ask Siri to send a text message to John, you won’t have the chance to use dictation. I don’t know what happens if you hold the home button down and say send a text to john and say x, and don’t let up until you are finished. Might be worth a try. Re: A question about dictation
Mike, One thing you can do is hold the home button the entire time that you wish Siri to listen to you, this should eliminate the problems you have with pausing. I do agree that using dictation seems easier because you can pause and resume dictation using the 2 finger double tap. I hope this is of some help. #GoRockies On Jul 1, 2017, at 12:59 PM, Mike B. <mb69ma...@charter.net<mailto:mb69ma...@charter.net>> wrote: Hi Richard, When dictating a text message for example, how do you adjust Siri to give you a little longer pause time in between sentences? RE: A question about dictation
You could try standing on your head and singing, grin, but I think you will find that there is nothing you can do to get Siri to wait. It is very impatient in my humble opinion. So, one has to have their thoughts together before starting. That is why I often write it out using MBraile and pasting it in. Re: A question about dictation
Hi, I don't know if this is correct, but it seems as though I do better when I dictate a message and need more time rather than using Siri. I do use her quite a bit for dictating messages but I feel like I have a little more time using the dictation feature. Take care.
