RE: Air Play from my PC with no air play ready receiver

2017-03-19 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
No problem, if you have somebody nearby who has an Airport Express you can use
then that is of course much easier.
Keep in mind that if you need help Apple Support can assist you in setting it
up correctly. I recommend you use the Airport Utility or whatever it’s called
to configure it, it is an app you can download from the app store and I find it
is easier to use than the web interface.

Sieghard

Thanks for your generous offer, but I was talking to another friend of mine,
who is local and he offered to do the same thing. Appreciate your help and

Yes, an Airport Express is an Airplay device and it has a 3.5mm audio out jack
which you could connect to your receiver. I use one connected to one of my
Sonos players so I can Airplay to my Sonos system.

Has anyone found out a solution for this problem?
In order to play iTunes music from my PC I need to have the TV on while using
the Apple TV 4, since they removed the audio out jack on that device. I know
there are products out there that can accomplish this. I want to be able to
use my PC for audio transmission to my Onkyo receiver. Are there any adaptors
that will allow this. I tried to use Audio Tracker, but it created it’s own
WIFI which my computer wouldn’t recognize. If I play from the iPhone it would
work but I don’t want to do that. Also the WIFI it created only had about a 30
foot range. Would Airport Express take care of this problem or some other
wireless adaptor? Thanks for any suggestions.

I don't have this service and can't get it as I am in Canada, but you can
Airplay anything to your Apple TV so it shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks much.

Okay, don't like a lot of cords running along the wall. So what seems to be
everyone's favorite airplay speaker of choice? Want quality. Thanks.

RE: air play speaker recommendations?

2012-12-28 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hello Listers,

Here is another very convenient resource to find and read about Airplay
Enabled Speakers. Go to Amazon.com and search for exactly that phrase
“Airplay Enabled Speakers”. You get dozens of hits, it will list some that
seem to be just bluetooth, it also lists Sonos and Apple TV, but there are
plenty of choices which indicate right in the title that they are Airplay
compatible like the Logitech UE Air Speakers, there are options from Sony,
Philipps, Panasonic and more. Of course you have Amazon’s rating which is a
number out of 5 which is the best possible rating and if you go into the
product details you can read about specifications and look through user
reviews.

Regards,

Sieghard

RE: air play speaker recommendations?

2012-12-27 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Cliphton,

I just posted a message in response to somebody else asking the same. I
didn't keep a copy of the message, but if you review my messages for the
last 2 or 3 days you'll find it. It contained a link to a website where
about 10 Airplay speakers/sound systems were listed and reviewed. More or
less at the top of the list both in quality and price was the Bowers
Wilkins Zeppelin Air, but many others were listed ranging in price from $200
or $250 to $700. I looked this up for the other list member simply by
googling Airplay compatible speakers or something along those lines.

You can read about the Zeppelin Air here:

http://www.bowers-wilkins.com/Wireless-Music-Systems/Wireless-Music-Systems/
Zeppelin-Air/product-details.html

Sieghard

I'm am thinking about purchasing a device that has airplay built in but have
a couple questions. I currently have a few apple expresses connected to my
apple router and when I want to play something via airplay I just click on
airplay and choose the airport express I want.
Now, with a device that has airplay built in, how does it show up on your
 IPhone?
Does airplay effect battery usage less than Bluetooth?
Any help to these questions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Air Play

2012-12-04 Thread Søren Jensen
Hi.

On an iPhone, iPod touch and on the iPad, you can choose airplay by pressing
the home button twice and then swipe right with 3 fingers. When you click the
airplay button, you can choose between all your airplay devices.
