Before starting each new section, there is usually also an option called tips, 
and this can be very useful and make some aspects clearer.

It’s been quite a while since I started with Duo Lingo, so I don’t recall 
exactly what the process looked like.

 

I can tell you that there are tabs along the bottom of the screen for different 
areas of the app. The first tab is learning and that is the one you want to 
double tapp. On the next screen you will see a heading called unit 1 and below 
that there are the lessons. I believe the first one is intro followed by 
phrases etc. Are you seeing anything like that?

 

If you need additional help, we can set up a time to talk or facetime if you 
want. Let me know.

I’m not sure I’d wholly agree here. When you start a language, that mioght be 
true enough but I am a year into learning German and I would say that I get a 
fair mix of pairing, translating, recording etc.

Just FWIW, I would recommend using it on desktop, not on mobile. The mobile 
version is mostly matching and such, whereas on the desktop web app you have 
the option of needing to actually type in the answer.

A little earlier this year a Duo Lingo update made the app fiddler to use, but 
they have rectified this and I find the app really user-friendly.

It’s been quite a while since I started with Duo Lingo, so I don’t recall 
exactly what the process looked like.

I can tell you that there are tabs along the bottom of the screen for different 
areas of the app. The first tab is learning and that is the one you want to 
double tapp. On the next screen you will see a heading called unit 1 and below 
that there are the lessons. I believe the first one is intro followed by 
phrases etc. Are you seeing anything like that?

If you need additional help, we can set up a time to talk or facetime if you 
want. Let me know.
