RE: Our phones ring at the same time

2015-02-07 Thread Rose Combs
It is part of Handoff I think but could not swear to it, first time it happened
to me I was in the hall between the two places, phone on the desk, iPad in
another room and it really startled me. Then I decided I liked the idea.

I've been experiencing a similar thing. Only with me, it's my phone and
iPad ringing whenever I get a call. Haven't figured it out.

we recently updated my wife's phone from 7 to eight. We went through
the setup one usually does and must have not paid attention to
something. Now, when some one calls either one of us both our phones
ring. I didn't think that was possible but the two ringing phones
assure us it is. Big grin!

Re: Our phones ring at the same time

2015-02-06 Thread Alan J Paganelli
I have my iPhone 5s and iPad Air setup this way. It comes in handy for
example, if my iPhone is on the charger in the bedroom and I'm using my
computer. My iPad Air sits on my desk as well. When a call comes in, I can
answer it on my iPad. It sure beats having to jump and run for the bedroom.
The computer room and my bedroom are as far apart as you can get so this
feature really comes in handy for me.

Hi Brian, this is a new feature in IOS eight so what each of you need to do
is turn off allows calls coming in from other Mobile devices and you should
be good. This can be found under sillier data. Or FaceTime I believe face
time is more the correct answer.

This is a feature with iOS and Mac. It allows you to use one of your devices to
answer the other. You can check it out in Settings.
