RE: Verbatim keyboard Batteries

2012-10-21 Thread Sandy Finley
Reggie,

Try this and let me know if it helps. Open the keyboard and place it flat
in front of you. Locate the on/off switch that you apparently have
identified; it is on the left side of the keyboard to the left of the second
row of keys from the bottom. Continue left from that switch and you will
feel a round edge raising a bit up from the keyboard itself. This is where
the batteries are. Now, touch the top of that edge with your left thumb and
move your thumb along the edge, away from you. As you get close to the end
farthest from you you will find a rougher feeling spot. This is labeled as
an arrow. Apply a little bit of pressure with your thumb on that arrow and
slide the top off as you continue to push away from you. You will hear and
feel a click; that loosens the top of the case. The easiest way to get that
loosened top off is to lift up the left side of the keyboard. The little
top will fall off into your hand which you have, it is hoped, kept close to
the the edge.

If this doesn't make sense let me know and you can call me and I'll walk
you through it. It's one of those things that once figured out is
incredibly simple. Having someone sighted to point out where the arrow was
helped me a lot.

RE: Verbatim keyboard Batteries

2012-10-21 Thread Regina Alvarado
Thanks Sandy. Got the batteries in. How do the numbers run? I tried
pairing and so did hubby, but it just keeps telling us it cannot connect. I
see the keyboard on iPhone but when I try and put the numbers in, I must not
be hitting the correct ones? Hubby tried looking at the keyboard chart with
Optacon, but we both have put in correct numbers by what he looked at and
still it will not pair. Are these batteries readily changed or as with
iPhone I need to send it in or take it to a Radio Shack? Thanks for being
patient. I need this as I am heading out of town tomorrow so need it to
keep up on lists. Thanks.

No, battery changing is standard; you can easily do it When you pair. are
you pushing in on the little button, I think it maybe called Reset? Do you
know what I mean? It's a recessed button that needs a stylus or something
like one. It is above the on off switch.
