Yes, the one with tornado has annoyed me the most. It pronounced correctly when 
I just typed this message. Hmmm. Using an 8 Plus running iOS 15.5. 
Just for laughs, if I didn’t know better, I would have thought the phone was 
saying Toronto warning. Hope the friends in Canada got a good laugh at that.

can reproduce this on both my iPad and iPhone respectively.  I can certainly 
change it of course, but wanted to know if anyone else is experiencing this 
same VoiceOver issue.

I've been noticing the "tornado" mispronunciation for years. I just went to the setting for pronunciations and added "tornado", substituting  "t o r n a y d o".

I’m using the Alex voice on my iPhones and Samantha on my Mac Mini.  I must 
have initially read the originating message on my iPhone because it pronounced 
the phrase “The Holiday Inn” perfectly.

However, I’m using Samantha on the Mac Mini and as I review this reply I find 
the phrase is badly mispronounced.  Further, I switched to Samantha on the 
iPhone 8 and realized the same problem.

Although I do prefer the Samantha voice, I use the Alex voice to avoid other 
mispronunciations via the Samantha voice.

I do wonder if Apple is aware of this issue!

I am using the default Samantha voice and she mispronounces Holiday Inn also. 
As you said, it is particular phrases, not just the word holiday. For a long 
time, when she would see "Arizona Cardinals" she would  pronounce it "Arizona 
Cardotdinals". It got on my nerves so bad I changed it in the default.

I’m actually using the default voice form VoiceOver, Samantha.  I’ll have to 
try another voice to see if that corrects the problem or change the 
pronunciation in the VO settings.

Not here, but it won’t pronounce the word “Peace” properly, no matter what I do.
