Hi Sieghard,
Yes, I am concerned about the disability aspect , as I need to keep these 
letters for future references, so I will need to read them from time to time.  
Although, I think your on to something when you say if I save these letters 
with VDScan it might change the format.  I had a sighted person from his office 
to just use his printer-scanner to scan the letters, and email them to me, and 
I can now read them just fine on my Computer, but not if I scan and save with 
VDScan though.  So this is something I just learned.

Hi Richard,
I'm going to scan those letters, and I will scan  them in text so I can send 
them to my Computer so I can read them myself.  I will then scan them and save 
in PDF format for sighted people.  I just don't understand why I can read most 
PDF files with Adobe, but not these  letters.  As far as I know these letters 
were just typed on a Computer.  So I don't think there is anything fancy about 
the letters.

folks.
If you are trying to come close to the original format, then save it as PDF and 
make sure the name means something to you.
If you cannot read the PDF with your screen reader, contact Winston Chen.
Or, save it first as PDF for the sighted people who you want to read it, then 
as text for yourself.

Yes, that is what I want to keep the original format for sighted people.  I 
will now scan and save in PDF format for the sighted people.  I will then scan

your best bet.  A text only copy would remove most formatting if that is what

Go into the app's settings & confirm that edge detection is on. When aligning the phone with a page, the higher the tone the more the page is properly aligned. The lower the tone pitch the less the page is aligned.Donna

I used the voice dream scanner for the first time today.  However, it read half the page from left to right but not the entire information.  What do I need to do to correct this?  Thanks in advance.

In my experience, if it doesn't read the whole page, it is because it did not see the whole page. Try holding the camera a little higher above the document.I recommend about 12 inches.
