Re: Reinstalling Uninstalled Apps
Actually, just copy the older version in to the folder where the apps are stored and delete the current version from that location. Also, the current version must have been deleted from the iDevice before syncing. Go in to the Apps radial button and place a check beside the app. iTunes will then restore the older app back to the iDevice. RE: Reinstalling Uninstalled Apps
Hi Alan, Only way to do this is to make a copy of the app that is on your computer or to make sure the version of the app you have on the computer is not updated. If I have an app where maybe in the past Voiceover accessibility was broken in an update I make sure I update on the phone, then I open and use the app to make sure everything still works. If everything is fine I update the apps in iTunes or sync my phone which will also update the apps on the computer. If something is not working, I can delete the app from the phone and then sync with iTunes. If the app in question is checked then it will be put back on the phone, but since I hadn't updated it, the previous version will be back. Of course you will once again see on the phone that there is an app update and if you do this you have to make sure not to use the "Update All" option, but instead update each app separately. Lastly, if you really want to make sure you keep a particular version of an app, I go into the Mobile Apps folder which is in iTunes Media, I find the app and just use the Windows copy and Windows Paste commands, Control+C and Control+V. This will create a second copy of the app with the app name and a - copy appended to the name. This way if you accidently update all apps on the computer, sync your phone and lose the older version of the app, you can delete the app both from the phone and the computer, rename the file with the - copy at the end so it doesn't have the - copy any more and at that point you should be able to sync it back to your iPhone. Hope this all makes sense, let me know if you have more questions. It would actually be nice if Apple introduced a feature similar to how you can roll back a new driver installation in Windows, but I guess with almost a Million apps in the app store this may just be not practical. Re: Reinstalling Uninstalled Apps
Yes, go to the apps radial button whilst the iDevice is connected and check the apps you want on the device. Sync causes all checked apps to be placed on the device and all unchecked apps to be removed. It is really straightforward. They're not in your library, but they're still in the folder, so they need to be removed manually. Reinstalling Uninstalled Apps
I'm curious about how iTunes manages uninstalled apps. I know the apps are kept under a folder named Mobile Applications. I'm curious why one of the apps I deleted from my phone still shows up in this folder after a sync between iTunes and my phone. I would have thought it would be removed.
