Hi,

Connect your iOS device to your mac via the cable.  In iTunes, you will have a 
button that says “devices”.  Click on it and you should hear popup window sound 
in which you should see the name of your device.  Click on it and the popup 
will close.  Now vo+right arrow and you should hear the name of your device 
preceded by a “selected radio button’.  And then further to the right Voiceover 
should say scroll area.  Interact with it and you should see various options 
and info about your device, including option to backup or restore backup.
