Re: Ringback tones and hotspot question
Hi, it depends on which plan you have with AT&T. For example I have a mobile share plan with several devices on it. The mobile share plan includes tethering at no extra charges. -- Raul A. Re: Ringback tones and hotspot question
Hi, Just a note on ringback tones. Ringback tones are actually the ring that the person calling you hears when they call. By default this is the simple ringing you hear when you make a phone call. Some phones/plans, I am not sure which, allow you to set a different sound for this ringback tone. Ringback tones are not what you hear when someone calls your phone, but what you hear when you call someone else's phone, and is set up on the phone you are trying to call. I.E. If I set up a Ringback tone it is what you would hear when you call me. I do not have any information on how, or if, this can be set up on an IPhone. RE: Ringback tones and hotspot question
Hi Shane, Your second question first. The iPhone can be used as a WiFi hot spot without the need to jailbreak or use additional apps. Ever since iOS 5 I think it was, the Personal Hotspot feature is part of iOS and you can allow other devices to connect to your iPhone when your iPhone is connected to WiFi or, for that matter 3G/4G. Of course you have to keep in mind that in the States apparently using your ipPhone as a Hot Spot is not automatically included in your data plan or at least not in all data plans. Here in Canada the carriers don't charge extra for that no matter what plan you are on, but if you use data you might want to make sure with your carrier they won't charge you an arm and a leg. You can allow connections either via WiFi with a password, via Bluetooth or by USB cable. The latter basically means you can plug your iPhone into a laptop or desktop with the normal 30-pin or lightning cable and let the computer that is connected access the internet that way. I have done this many times when I was at a hotel where I could only connect one device to the hotel's WiFi, I would connect my iPhone and then plug it into my laptop which charged it and at the same time allowed me to get online with the computer. As for "ringback tones" I am not quite sure what you mean. If you mean can you set different ringtones for different people in your contact list then Yes.
