Almost from the beginning, I simply don't answer a call if it is not in my contacts, or if I don't recognize the number. If it is important, let them leave a voice mail, I will call back. Allegedly, it doesn't make any difference as to how many of these calls one gets if they are answered or not, but I seem to get less of them than some people I know. Maybe they keep track as to whether their calls are answered by a live person or a voice mail request. Whatever.
