Yes, I found the same thing shortly after the update but, as I'm not really that interested in the handwriting right now as I have only a limited idea of writing, I decided to take it out of the rotor setting. I do think I managed to move it backwards through the rotor before removing it. If I understand correctly, whenever you enter in and edit field the first option to the right will be handwriting. This is why it keeps changing place. I'm not crazy about this either but if you know what to expect you can deal with it.
