Re: Seeing entire message on an iPhone

2016-08-03 Thread 'Carol Pearson' via VIPhone
Hi. It is a bit of a technique but you need to tap at the top of the message
Field until you hear "beginning of the text "and then get ready to put two
fingers on the screen if the reading begins. At that point you need to turn the
rotor until you get to words. You may have to do this slowly in order not to
pass the setting. Once you are in words you can flick down word by word or up
until you get back to the section you want! I hope this helps and gets you
there! Don't be discouraged as this does take a bit of practice! :-)

It is a longer message and I wanted my husband to look at the phone and read a
word I could not understand, but the message was at the end, and we could not
figure out how to see the beginning again.

When you set your roter to words, what happened when you did a one finger
flick? That's how you would move by whatever increment is set in the roter.

If the message is multiple pages, you can do a three finger flick up
to page back or a three finger flick down to page forward.

Whether I have the rotor set to either words or characters, VO just starts over
reading the message from the beginning with each flick up/down. I cannot seem
to navigate within the received message itself.

It is a longer message and I wanted my husband to look at the phone and read a

Also, when I set the rotor to words, it did not move through the message by
words- so is there something else to do to make the open message text

Re: Seeing entire message on an iPhone

2016-08-01 Thread Chris Chaffin
You have to use the rotor and select what you want to read by; character, word,
or line.
To spell a word out that you do not understand, use characters on the rotor.

Remember once you select what you want to read by on the rotor, just flick down
to read from left to right, and flick up to go back from right to left.

HTH,

Chris

Seeing entire message on an iPhone

2016-08-01 Thread Cher Bosch
What are some gestures to move around the text of a received message so that
you can read the entire message?

And is there a way to spell out a word you cannot understand with VO?

Thanks for any/all help J

Cher
