Setting Up VoiceOver On New iPhone

2014-09-17 Thread Ezzie Bueno
Hello friends:

In just a couple of days, I will be receiving a brand-new iPhone 5C.
How do I set up VO as soon as I pull the phone out of the box?
Any help is appreciated! :-)

Warm regards,
Ezzie Bueno

Re: Setting Up VoiceOver On New iPhone

2014-09-17 Thread Woody Anna Dresner
Hello,

If the phone is brand new, you'll be able to turn on VoiceOver as soon as the
phone is powered up by pressing the HOme button 3 times. The whole setup
process is spoken by VoiceOver. If you're new to the phone, you may need help
typing in a network password, if you need a password to connect to your local
Wi-Fi network. Otherwise, you can do the whole thing by flicking through the
screen and double-tapping the item you want to select.

Best,
Anna

Hit the home button 3 times. During setup, this enables VO, and you can use it
for the rest of the setup. Once your phone is set up, though, you'll need to go
into accessibility settings and set your accessibility shortcut to VoiceOver;
after setup, the triple click home reverts to doing nothing.

Hello,

If the phone is brand new, you'll be able to turn on VoiceOver as soon as
the phone is powered up by pressing the HOme button 3 times. The whole setup
process is spoken by VoiceOver. If you're new to the phone, you may need
help typing in a network password, if you need a password to connect to your
local Wi-Fi network. Otherwise, you can do the whole thing by flicking
through the screen and double-tapping the item you want to select.

Best,
Anna

As Alex pointed out, after the initial setup a triple click of the home

toggle Voiceover on or off. It will not do so automatically once the iPhone is

Hit the home button 3 times. During setup, this enables VO, and you can use
it for the rest of the setup. Once your phone is set up, though, you'll need to
go into accessibility settings and set your accessibility shortcut to
VoiceOver; after setup, the triple click home reverts to doing nothing.
