Thank you very much, Weitzel, for all this detail.

Let me ask you a little bit more about this.

I did not have this information two days ago that you have given me now. I have
ordered the following two days ago and it would be delivered on Tuesday::

Does it look ok and would work, or I should return this and order Philip?

Makes sense that in a rental situation you wouldn't want to spend a lot of
money for installation and such and in any case, you would have to first get
permission and all that.

Not sure why you don't find Hue products on Amazon.ca, there are dozens and all
you have to do is search for "Philips Hue". Anyways, below is one particular
light bulb, at $59.99 it's also more expensive, but apparently it can be
controlled bia Bluetooth and you don't need the Hue Bridge which is what we
have and what has to be connected to your router with an ethernet cable. It
says you can control up to 10 bulbs with the Hue Bluetooth app and this might
be all you need if you just want 2 or 3 bulbs. But I'd check out the starter
kits, if you buy 3 bulbs for $60 that is also $180 and you can probably buy a
starter kit with a bridge and 2 bulbs for not much more and then you can buy
much less expensive bulbs. I also assume that Bluetooth controlled bulbs limit
you to Bluetooth range whereas if you have the Hue bridge you can control your
lights from anywhere even if you are not at home.

Yes to all 3 questions is correct, but keep in mind that if your mechanical
switch is turned off the smart bulb will not work. We have Philips Hue bulbs

our switches are usually turned on and we just ask Alexa or our Google

However, when we have visitors they are often confused, so let's say they walk
into the bathroom and press the decora wall switch which is in the on position,
but the light is turned off via the smart bulb, then of course nothing happens
because they just turned off the light. Then they usually press the switch

Yes too all three of your questions.

A smart light-bulb can only work with a mechanical On/Off switch. You obviously
need to leave the switch on after setting one up for it to work with Lady A.

Can I use smart bulbs along with traditional bulbs?

I mean I want smart bulbs at a couple of places only.

Does smart bulb work with mechanical switch too?

decora-type in-wall switches and they are of very good quality and look nice. A
Smart bulb is cheaper especially if you don't get the ones which support
colours and for Fasil if he just wants 2 or 3 bulbs this may still be the
better way to go, but in any larger application or a new house I'd never put
anything but actual smart switches.
Best regards,
Sieghard

Yes too all three of your questions.

A smart light-bulb can only work with a mechanical On/Off switch. You obviously
need to leave the switch on after setting one up for it to work with Lady A.

Hi, list.
I do apologize if admins think that this is not directly related to iPhone.
I live in an older apartment building in Vancouver, Canada.
I got Echo Dot and installed Alexa from the App-Store.
I have three questions,
1.
Can I use smart light-bulbs in old buildings?
2.
Can I use smart bulbs along with traditional bulbs?
I mean I want smart bulbs at a couple of places only.
3.
Does smart bulb work with mechanical switch too?

Thanks!
