Re: Sounds not working for Voiceover events? Re: I find iOS 15 to be one of the least buggy upgrades in a long time, what are the more significant bugs you still experience?

2021-10-04 Thread Gerardo Corripio
Go into "SettingsAccessibility/Voiceover" and into Verbosity. Within Verbosity,
flick right until you start seeing Caps change pitch, etc. Try to set up links,
and "Actions" with sound. In my case, it sounded until I got off a phone call,
is when the soundthe stopped, having tin change back to voice. Hope this helss
some.

And especially not if it hasn't been reported. This is not something I came
across on any of the Beta groups or in the Applevis article so if you have gone
through your settings and made absolutely sure that this is a bug then you
should report it.
Maybe you can mention which settings you change exactly so some of us on the
group can try to reproduce it.

Have you reviewed the settings?

Many settings have changed or been added.

I never had a setup like you so I don’t know that it would have changed in such
a minor update as 15.0.1.

Speaking of probable bugs… before on Ios14, I’d have sounds assigned to links,
and to the “Actions Available” wihtin the rotor. Now with iOS15, though I’m
still running 15.0), the sounds don’t seem to play as before! Thus having to
revert back to Voiceover speaking the word “Link” or “Actions Available”. Am I
the only one experiencing this situation? Has it been fixed in iOS15.0.1?

My biggest irritation right now is that VoiceOver insists on saying "comma"
before each letter you delete even though there is no comma anywhere in the
text. Almost as irritating to me as the bloody woodpecker noise...

But, your issue with British Columbia must be the strangest pronunciation screw
up yet.
If you write the word British in other contexts, it says it correctly.
British comedy, British food, British accent.

Perhaps Apple has an issue with the number of bars in BC. Ha, ha.

I assume you have reported that to Apple.

But overall, iOS 15 is quite good, just new wrinkles and lots of new settings
to sort out.

If somebody knows of a good reason why Reduce Motion should be on I'd like to
hear it and while I don't necessarily disagree that Voiceover should read the
app names even with this turned on, turning it off is a fix/work-around for now
especially if it doesn't have any other consequences.

Another issue which was mentioned when Applevis released their warning prior to

where the Wallet app crashes when you flick through your cards/passes. I am
very curious to hear how many people have this problem. As I said above, I use
