RE: Still puzzled about Fast Charging
Hi Keith, As part of the USB protocol definition, the device needing power must specify to the device providing the power, how much power it needs. The device providing power is only allowed to provide the minimum of what it can provide with its electronics, what the device asked for, and the maximum the USB/B specification allows. I think the difference (if nothing else) is that the USB/C specification allows for a higher maximum. RE: Still puzzled about Fast Charging
On the iPhone there is no USB-C port, still regular Lightning which is similar, but still not the same. Apple is not known for giving stuff away which is why they are so rich so they probably see no reason to include this. They provide the regular Lightning cable which may also have to do with compatibility, after all, there still probably are a lot more PC’s and laptops out there with USB ports which don’t have USB-C, if they only included a USB-C cable you probably would get a ton of complaints from people who don’t have it. Hi, I'm no expert but it would seem to me that if they have fast charging ports Apple's USB C to lightning cable would do the trick in that instance. Re: Still puzzled about Fast Charging
No, I don't need wireless charging. I just wan tto do the plugged in quick charge which still requires cables. Apple wants to sell a cable and an adaptor for this but my question is can I use what I have rather than buying Apple's. This is different from the charging ad. But with the new Iphones, can I buy an adaptor of some sort to use this charge for fast charging them. All of the ports themselves look like standard USB ports. -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list.
