Voice Dream Reader and plain text documents

2015-10-11 Thread Gary Bowers
Does anyone know how to locate a .txt file that has been uploaded to Voice
Dream Reader?

I tried using Dropbox to load .txt files to VDR in zipped and unzipped
formats. VDR indicates that a zipped .txt file has been successfully loaded
to VDR, but I cannot find the file.

I've gone to Home and checked the list of files, and I've tried using the
search function--both efforts failed to locate the .txt file. The VDR user
manual says that .txt files are supported, but few details are given beyond
that.

It would be great if I could create a list, e.g. phone numbers or addresses,
and read them in VDR.

I'd appreciate any help or comments concerning plain text documents in VDR.

RE: Voice Dream Reader and plain text documents

2015-10-11 Thread Gary Bowers
Thanks, Richard. You did it again!

I found the unzipped text file when I changed the settings to sort by Title
(i.e. alphabetical.

Originally, I tried an unzipped text file. When I could not find that file, I
tried a zipped text file. As you already know, VDR could not locate the zipped
file, but changing the sort order allowed me to locate the unzipped file.

Richard, I appreciate your help.

I just copied a plain text file to Dropbox with Writer.
Then I opened Voice Dream Reader, double tapped on Add, double tapped on
Dropbox, located the file, double tapped on it, and when it said it was
successfully loaded I double tapped on the OK button, then the done button.
The file was the second one in my list because I had them sorted alphabetically.
I don't think you would want them in a zip file, as that is only used for mp3
files and DAISY books I believe.
