Re: Voiceover gestures for going to the bottom of the list in a big long scroll area

2017-01-31 Thread Mary Otten
Well, after further experimentation, I really don't know what is going on. It
has actually worked once or twice to put me at the bottom where I wanted to be
with the foreign-language channels. Other times, no dice. I have no idea why
this might be. It's very weird.

Hello, my experience is flicking left from the first bottom tab, brings me to
that 999 channel. Actually, now there’s some 1995 service check channel.

This flick left from the bottom row of tabs is working whether I have all
channels showing or if I narrow the list to my favorites.

I agree though, I wish there was something as seamless and consistent as the
tap in the status bar. I use that gesture often. Frankly, the four-finger
single tap towards the bottom is always annoying. Lol!

Good luck to you. I hope you can get it to work.

Mary,

That’s correct, when I flick left, I land on channel 999, which is a Comcast
employee channel or something.
It is on row something like 570.
When you flick left from “Listings” It should scroll to the bottom.
Have you by chance restarted your phone?
VO is not performing correctly in this case for you.

Hi Mary,

So I just tried to reproduce your problem. I didn’t realize that the list had
the tabs across the bottom. From within the “Listings” tab, I focus on the
Listings button, and flick left and my focus is now at the bottom of the
listing of channels. I’m not sure why this is not working for you. What
behavior are you getting when you flick left from the listings button?

Hi Mike,
That's nice. But not relevant, since I'm talking about an iPhone, not a Mac.
Maybe Apple will let us have customized gestures at some point in the future.

On my macbook, I actually made up two custom gestures for this. I set
option+swipe up for go to top, and option+swipe down for go to bottom, works
every time.

Re: Voiceover gestures for going to the bottom of the list in a big long scroll area

2017-01-28 Thread Mary Otten
That is a good thought. And I know that works in some apps. But not here,
unless I'm missing something. This is the TV Guide app which several people
have talked about from time to time, most recently Mark Taylor. If it's
possible to touch the tabs at the bottom and then his flick left and get to the
very bottom of the entire list, I would love to know how. It's certainly not
working that way here.

Hi Paul,
OK. I guess what I want doesn't exist. That for finger single tap just goes
to the bottom of the screen. I want to go to the bottom of the whole
business, like what happens when you do a single finger tap in the status

entire screen or list or webpage or whatever. We need something like that to
get to the bottom of a great long list like what happens when you're looking

Voiceover gestures for going to the bottom of the list in a big long scroll area

2017-01-28 Thread Mary Otten
Hi all, I think there is something to do with a four finger tap to get you to
the top or the bottom of a big long list. I never use it. In order to get to
the top, I always double tap with a single finger up in the status bar, and it
works every time like a charm. However, for getting to the list bottom, how do
you do that? A single tap with forefingers does nothing. A double tap wants to
call up some kind of help thing. So, for instance, in the TV Guide app, where I
have 1200 lines in the list, how do I get to the bottom without having to
scroll all that way which is absurd?
