It is the same on the old watch. I don't see how or why it should be any
quicker. I really don't think that a second is too long to wait for the
vibration. I really love this new feature. I use it all the time.
Take care,
Lois

Subject: RE: Watch OS 3.0 - Viration time!
I was just in Vancouver and stopped by an Apple Store to check out the Apple
Watch Series 2. The time feedback after a double or triple tap is very
prompt, I would say maybe a second or less. It's not instant as in where it
starts vibrating after the second or third tap, but very responsive. I was
very impressed with the new Apple Watch and have a feeling that I am going
to get one in the next couple of months. I am a bit undecided between the
Sport or Stainless version. I like the weight of the Sport since I did find
the stainless version felt quite heavy, but don't like the fact it doesn't
have Sapphire glass. Of course here in Canada there is also a $210 price
difference between the starting price of the Sport which starts at $489 for
the 38mm model and the stainless which starts at $699 for the same size, I
would definitely want the 42mm which in stainless starts here at $779 and
then of course I like the higher-end bands, but I think you can now find
many of them from third parties for much less than what Apple charges.

Sieghard

Yeah, I have found the double tap and triple tap to be a little slow on the
first generation Apple Watch. It will be interesting to see if that time
speeds up with the new watch. I should have mine in a couple of weeks. Here
is to hoping…

Figured it out. There is a specific rhythm of doing the taps. Don’t double
or triple tap like you usually do. Instead, tap, then half a second later
do another tap, and so on.

Hello,
If you triple tap you will only get the minutes of the time, double tap
you will get the full time.
I hope this helps,

It was already on and set to digits on my watch now running watchOS 3.
It might be me though, but I am getting inconsistencies. Sometimes I get
the full pattern, sometimes I get just the minutes, other times though I
just get the time spoken, no haptic feedback. Again though it’s probably
me while I get accustomed to the very useful feature.

Hi Claudio and folks, I just updated to Watch OS 3, and I can't figure
out the haptic time as described here. Is there something I need
enabled? Just curious. Thanks.

The preview doesn't work in iOS 10 even with hints on.
It could be this three finger tap is the solution.

Hello all,
The best new feature in Watch OS 3.0 is the "Vibration time".
This is not the official name.
With Voice Over on and the screen locked, tap twice on the watch.
It buz like a morse signal.
Teh code is very simple:
long vibrations stand for 10 unit; short vibrations stand for 1
unit.
Examples:
12.05 (1 logng, 2 shorts, pause, 5 shorts)
23.59 (2 longs, 3 shorts, pause 5 longs, 9 shorts)
For me it's a very beatiful mode, useful when it is not so polite to
speech the time.
Regards.
