Re: adding books to Bard app from hard drive?

2014-01-26 Thread Sherrie
I have put the zip files of BARD books into Dropbox and then opened them in
Bard mobile on the iPhone. The problem with this is that it takes quite a
bit of time for them to upload from the computer and then download onto the
Dropbox on the phone. Much faster to just search for the books right in the
Bard app and then choose add to wish list. Then open the wish list and
download them.  Much, much faster.

hi,

I'd just download them again from within the ap. Should be easy enough to
find them. add to your wishlist and download to the ap.

Hi all,
I just discovered several books on a thumb drive that I never read,
forgotten when I switched from the NLS Bard player to the iOS app. Is there
an easy way for me to load all these into the app, preferably not using
iTunes, or is it easier to just re-download them from within the app itself?
Thanks.

Re: adding books to Bard app from hard drive?

2014-01-26 Thread Cheryl Homiak
Yes, you can also do this with dropbox. Here are the steps again.

1. Put the zip file in your dropbox folder on your computer. Make sure it has
time to have uploaded into dropbox.

open dropbox on your device. If your zip file doesn't show up there, just wait;
eventually it will.

3. Find the zip file. Double tap it. Then wait till the progress says 100%.

4. Double tap share.

5. Double tap open in.

6. Double tap open in bard mobile.

The bard mobile app will open but will still not show the new book. This time I
just left it open and and after a couple of minutes I got an alert that said
the request had timed out. This may or may not happen to you. Remember the book
has to do more than just be in the app; it has to be authorized which means the
server is being contacted if I understand correctly.

7. Go out of the app. I didn't remove it from the app switcher; I just pressed
the home button on my phone and then pressed the home button twice to get back
into the app switcher and found the bard mobile app and double tapped on it.

I think it might have still said 5 audiobooks but as I flicked through the
books, I found my new one. Then I checked again and it did say 6 audiobooks.
Order of this may vary. You might have to go out of the bard app and back in
more than once.

I tried and tried to turn over a new leaf.
I got crumpled wads of tear-stained paper
thrown in the trash!
Then God gave me a new heart and life:
His joy for my despairing tears!
And now, every day:
This I call to mind,
and therefore I have hope:
The steadfast love of the Lord
never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
