Re: best app to use for keeping track of sports scores.

2015-10-14 Thread Les Kriegler
Well, recently, Yahoo must've made some changes. The scores are not right
automatically by Siri anymore. It only works if you ask for one score. But if
you ask for a schedule for multiples games, it will not be read automatically.
Your timing was great to come up with this new app. I think I'm going to use
that instead. By the way, I contacted the excess ability group and they could
reproduce the problem I was having with Siri and scores.

2015-10-14 Thread Arnold Schmidt
I suggest Yahoo Sports. It is the one Serie uses to get scores. I discovered
this one night when I tapped the more info button, or whatever it is called,
after having asked Serie for a score, and was told I didn't have yahoo sports
installed on my phone.

  Hey all,

I am looking for an accessible app to use for keeping track of sports scores
in different leagues, or teams?
Also, if the app has news, that would be great. I have the at bat app for
baseball, and I love that one.

  Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  Thanks,

The score Mobile This is the app I have used for years to follow the NFL and
college football teams. The buttons are labeled well and I have found all of
the text to be accessible. Layout is very clean and doesn't change a lot.

I have a question about that though. In a recent update, about maybe 4 or 5
months ago, one of their release notes said that there was a sound that it was
supposed to make, I think it was a horn sound or something, when your favorite
hockey team scores a goal. Is that feature only on the Apple Watch?

Re: best app to use for keeping track of sports scores.

2015-10-13 Thread Daniel Miller
No. The hockey horn sound has been in the app for a lng time. You can
pick it for the alert sound in general, not just for hockey.

 Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: best app to use for keeping track of sports scores.

2015-10-13 Thread Robin Frost
Hi,
Daniel beat me to it that was exactly what I was going to say. it’s by Luno
soft and here’s its url.
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/sports-scores-alerts/id432450349?mt=8
You can select teams from various leagues and specify alerts therein. I.E. just
game ending scores period or quarter or score change updates and the like.
It is very accessible and its maker is aware of VoiceOver accessibility as I’ve
asked for fixes in the past and they’ve appeared.
I hope this helps.
Robin
