Nope input and output have to be set to the same.  I figured I would pass it on 
for anyone else who runs into this.

I don't know if the following will work, it won't hurt to try. I use braille 
screen input, and when it starts making errors for no reason, one thing that 
will fix it is to type a bunch of letters and contractions, in other words, a 
bunch of garbage really quickly. then erasing it, It clears the memory or 
something, and it starts behaving as it should. There are a couple  other 
things I can try, I don't know that they would apply to the orbit writer, such 
as unlocking, then locking orientation, and switching between contracted and 
uncontracted braille, then switching back to contracted,  but typing a bunch of 
garbage really quickly, then clearing it always seems to work.

This just started I'm using the old US braille table. It says things like u
circum flex when I do a wh sign. What do I do to fix it? any help and
suggestions are appreciated. If it matters I'm using an orbit writer
although I don't think it matters. The device i'm using is an iPhone 15 pro
