Hi, all. Several weeks ago someone told us about the app doc scan which was free for the day. Has anyone had success using this one? I can't figure it out. Thanks in advance for any help. God bless! Doc Scan: get this amazing scanner for FREE during launch
Hello List, I received the below email from Sparkling Apps which is also the developer of Talking Goggles. I did download the app and it looks accessible, but I haven’t played around with it yet. Thought I pass this on though since it is free right now and people might want to grab it and try it out. They do mention the OCR is performed locally on the phone, but also that it is more meant for indexing and allowing text searches of scanned documents so I don’t know how good it would be. Make sure you read the full app description, but then again, the app is free right now, so nothing lost if it doesn’t perform well enough in the OCR department as Prizmo or Text Grabber. The only way it does OCR is to export to Google Drive. Otherwise, the documents are simply pictures, not readable by VoiceOver.
